Spent some time today helping youth Connect the Dots! Had a great time with @AuroraHuskies connecting with industry reps, learning about our skill set, and developing resumes. Always a pleasure working with polite, respectful, and open-minded youth!
Thank you for hosting us!
Ag Fest is happening today for York and Polk county 4th graders. Sessions on beef, ag tech, pollination, popcorn, and more!
Thanks to our sponsors: @NECornBoard, Grand Central, Dollar Fresh, York/Hamilton Cattlemen, Nuttelman Dairy, and @corteva!
Thank you to our presenters!
The amount I've learned about weather and weather forecasting has already exponentially increased! Thank you to @1011_News@WxRentschler for coming out to present to our York Parks and Rec/Extension Science in the Sky camp! So excited to learn more!
Our STEM challenge is underway at YPR Science in the Sky camp. We are challenged to build a rover that would keep their "human" safe during a Mars landing.
I think the coolest part of the Look Who's Hatching project with the Kilgore Memorial Library is the livestream and being able to catch moments of a family watching an egg hatch from my office. What a cool moment!
Just a couple additional looks into the fun that was held this week!
Friday morning, spent some time at the Library with Miss Emily showing youth how to make bubble nests. Then, took some time with kindergarten talking about clouds and weather.
It's exciting to see former students take their work-ethic, drive, and passion into a career they love. That willingness to continue learning has never changed.
@SuitUpVarsity Lindsay Larson - Cross County
I think at one time she held 20+ school records across softball, basketball, and track. Phenomenal individual athletically and personally.
215 area youth learning about how they connect the dots...better yet, this is the first time we've hosted in York and Fillmore counties! What a phenomenal opportunity!
This was definitely one of my top 2 favorite PD experiences. Both in quality of material and *superb* quality of people. So thankful #NebExt supports their employees in professional growth and provides these opportunities!
It's been a great morning with @YorkDukes 3rd grade! Practicing good handwashing skills with our Glitterbug friend.
The level of excitement in the class is so much fun! Looking forward to some more this afternoon!
Rookie move forgetting my phone for pictures! But a big "Thank You" to @YorkDukes 4th grade for letting me come in and talk about bees and pollination! There was some great conversations taking place, inquisitive minds, and wonderful teamwork! Always a fun time!
Diary of an Extension Assistant day...last day of fair:
We rounded out with large animal round robin, and a lot of prep work to wrap things up. HUGE shout out to the York County Ag Socoety for all their work to putting on a great fair! And more thank yous to all our volunteers!
Diary of an Extension Assistant day 5 of fair:
There was waffles, sausage, the swine show, small animal round robin, livestock judging, and much more excitement...and I nabbed no phone pictures. This will be a fair we soon will not forget. Tomorrow is the end, join us!
