@reevierat I was wondering why so many people hated the cover, until I listened to it. And it's really just that Chonny's vocal skill falters in comparison with his production and writing for the cover. Though this bit of the song I like so much better than the original.
Finished my 3d modeling final yesterday, and was so proud of the renders. But I looked at them today and had what was the modeling version of post nut clarity. #b3d
What a genuinely horrible decision this is. You now have to pay to publish, and not even that guarantees access to half of roblox's playerbase (Regardless of content)? What's the actual point in making something interesting if roblox only cares about retention?
When your game has had fewer than 100 highly engaged players over the last 60 days, users under the age of 16 will no longer be able to play it.
If a game is limited, it can regain access for Kids/Select users once the game has had 500 highly engaged players over the last 60 days.
@Eragon_Redeemer@Bloxy_News I fully agree with you. But I don't think that's what their aiming for with this decision. Their aiming for the people that mass post things that go against the tos. It's kinda hard to moderate something as objective as "slop games" in the first place
@Eragon_Redeemer@Bloxy_News The more important part is that publishing to a majority of roblox's userbase still requires giving away sensitive data to roblox. That's what stops independent creators from getting seen in the space.
@Eragon_Redeemer@Bloxy_News Please read the post in full. It says in the post that the money will be refunded in 3 months if the game doesn't break tos. So no, its not locked behind a paywall. its just insurance to make sure bad actors can't just spam games anymore.
@Bloxy_News If this is true its a genuinely solid change. But that's only really if this allows us to publish for all audiences, doesn't require plus, or giving your identity like it was. Also what dose "still active" mean in this context? are games just getting removed because no updates?
@kfriz43@DragonbornZane@Pirat_Nation Its a gateway for pc gaming. It's for people who can't afford a proper pc, to get introduced into the steam ecosystem. Unlike consoles, once they get a proper system, they can still use their entire library.
Also wtf are you playing that 4 year old hardware can't run?
What their doing is the antithesis of what the platform was about. Though the player base doesn't seem to care at current. We'll just get less and less games in the future. because people have to decide forfeit all their personal data and pay monthly just to have game's exist.
I find it kind of crazy that I've only seen people talk about the ad itself, and not the genuinely platform ruining decision that made this ad exist. Locking game publishing behind what is essentially a deal with the devil, but the devil doesn't even guarantee you'll be popular-

@Mudhole__@pretriclov18888@TanokMopo As a little bit of an afterword, I just want to say that though I was a little vitriolic. I believe that Simon and his partner are not bad people. And its sad to see a game with so much potential eat it after one lackluster response. I wish this never went down the way it did.
@Mudhole__@pretriclov18888@TanokMopo Simon sits in a position of influence. He didn't practice what he preached and paid the price. He's a person at the end of the day. Just like the forsaken team you seem to hate. They went through drama for some dumb decisions and paid for it. What makes him so different. -
@kambyyy@Art_Of_One Its actually very much is their strongest point. Destiny 2 just had their 9th expansion (Campaign) last December. And if you don't count that. The game released with its original campaign in 2017. Its not been 20 years, its been 8 at the very most.
@SirDapper They still have an obligation to try and protect their userbase of minors. But instead they half ass it and implement systems that make it worse. I mean no hate with this. But the goal should be to reduce that problem as much as possible not to put a bandaid on a stab wound
@SirDapper Its not like i don't get your point. But its like saying a company shouldn't be blamed for a databreach just because people will always try to hack them. Even though they had multiple obvious flaws that had been reported months before.
