@1goodtern@journeycatz Last week I had no problem smelling 90 different scents at a perfume-making workshop in Grasse, France.
My new signature scent is a delightful combination of citrus and wood.
I’m sad for those who won’t be able to enjoy it.
For anyone travelling through NCE (Nice Airport), be advised that they made me remove my respirator mask and pass it through the carry-on scanner.
Then I was thoroughly patted down for several minutes before I was able to retrieve it.

It bothers me that open windows for ventilation on trains are possible, but for some reason, they are locked shut. CO2 climbs, risk increases.
We can do better.

Full flights mean full overhead bins. Full overhead bins mean the gate agent takes your carry-on.
The moment they tag it and send it down, it is checked baggage. DOT rules apply. If it comes back damaged, the airline is responsible for repairing or reimbursing you. The domestic liability cap is $4,700 per passenger.
That covers wheels, handles, straps, and zippers. Airlines like to tell you those parts are excluded. The DOT has specifically said they cannot categorically refuse to compensate for damage to those components. They investigated 16 airports and found carriers routinely posting signs saying otherwise.
Two things to do before you hand it over. Photograph the bag at the gate. Note the condition. If it comes back damaged, file the claim at baggage services before you leave the airport. Do not wait. Airlines are more responsive when the report is filed on the spot.

@YouAreLobbyLud@Qantas@CO2RadicalAus I’ve had similar on -8’s, but at least better is possible on bigger aircraft.
A321 got up to 2104 while boarding/taxiing but dropped to mid-700’s while at altitude.
Measured by my @airspothealth monitor on board @AirCanada
Looks like Qantas and Air Canada need to work on -8’s
@spaceshipfrick@suchnerve Luckily, the air has been surprisingly decent and my mask is comfy enough.
The red/high was during boarding and takeoff. We are now on approach.
@1goodtern In Costa Rica once, we returned to our room to find a gecko-shaped cluster of tiny ants. There was absolutely no trace of the original gecko, but every detail was preserved by the layout of the feasting ants. (And it wasn’t there before we went out for dinner.)
