@JustinMajetich Oh that's awesome!! Did you use any of the built in teleport options that the Oculus integration provides? Or did you make it all yourself?
Got the Quest 2 today, now for the most difficult part of starting to develop on it. Deciding my organization name. (You need to give Oculus your organization name to access developer mode)
@vascogregorio9k @smallthaz @DasAkrilo The case is the NR200p by the look of it, it stays pretty cool if youโve set up your fans right in it. I think GPU temps were in the high 60 low 70 range, in a lot of benchmarks
Today is my 40th birthday!
For my 39th birthday, I made friends with @TheRock
To celebrate this milestone, I'm going to raise $1,000,000 for charity.
But I'm going to need your help.
@FinnDyrud @ttenor12@SkillUpYT Yeah Iโll admit I was wrong, I still donโt trust third party cables though, but even with a full price link cable, thatโs better pricing then the rift.
@TatataToddC @FinnDyrud @ttenor12@SkillUpYT Ahh, thanks for confirming that, Iโm honestly not super familiar with the Link cable in general, Iโm going off of pricing listed alone. But a 64gb model is pretty terrible these days still. I guess itโs worth it.
@FinnDyrud @ttenor12@SkillUpYT The Quest 2 is expected to cost $399 from everything Iโve seen. Iโm not sure where you saw $299. Going with a third party cable is a recipe for disaster honestly. All my experience with third party cables is they break easily, or hurt your components.
@FinnDyrud @ttenor12@SkillUpYT The point is for use with a PC, itโs so much more powerful with a PC then without one. At a $400 price point, right now the Rift S canโt be beat. The Quest in my eyes is only better if you want to travel. Unless the quest 2 comes with a link cable, that brings its price to $500.
@Nefrai @ttenor12@SkillUpYT Yeah it needs to grow a lot more. Compare what we had 5-6 years ago to what we have today with VR tech. If we have a similar or greater leap in the next 5 years all current VR tech is going to be obsolete.
@ttenor12@SkillUpYT Thatโs the other argument for the Quest series I guess, it gives you the option (with a fee) to be wired or wireless. The quest 2 does have a much higher resolution, but itโs around the $500 range to use it wired. At that price, for an extra $100 you can get the HP reverb G2
@ttenor12@SkillUpYT The Rift S is still the better option IMO, itโs way more powerful just for the fact that itโs PC powered, and especially if youโre not planning to travel with your VR Headset.
