@brotherpug@LeeHurstComic I know, that's why I stated "ignoring ideology" because I wanted to highlight it doesn't matter where you stand on the BBC, abolishing the licence fee makes minimal financial difference, therefore should be the last item on the list, not the first
@Jenny_1884 The average value of a 2 bed house in 1981 was between 3 and 5 times the average income. The average value of a 2 bed house 45 years later is between 12 and 14 times the average wage. There are too many "asset" properties pushing up the values and pricing out young workers
@LeeHurstComic A reminder that no one is illegal unless their application to remain in this country is declined. Most of those who are denied asylum are already returned back to their country of origin. Your "plan" isn't just racist, it's based on false information and won't work.
@AllisonPearson@Keir_Starmer Some journalist you are Allison, this is the article your own paper wrote about Mandelson's elevation in 2008 https://t.co/LR6pVY1YNm
@TheAlphaThought In Britain, a 40% tip would require the waiter or waitress to provide service so unbelievably good it probably involves extras that are not on the menu. However the service staff get paid at least minimum wage in the UK
@crowningred Wow, try living somewhere suburban where one bus every half hour until 5pm, and one per hour on weekends is considered an excellent service for those who cannot/prefer not to drive
@Lord_Talbot64 If this is really from 1905, someone has added the colour to the film later and made assumptions about the children's skin colour in the process. Colour film was limited in it's range until Technicolour in the 1930s and even then was far more expensive than black and white
@blaiklockBP@BBCLondonNews@BBC Well this is a load of rage-baiting nonsense. They used the words in quotes because those are the words of the organisers. To do anything else would have been inaccurate reporting and, my goodness, you'd have loved to pounce on that instead wouldn't you?
@Torque_is_Cheap I'm far from being a Max fan but the nature of the crash, assuming you're referring to Silverstone '21 was very different to Gabi's crash yesterday. There was no intent from Lewis, despite what Horner tried to say, but it was a big impact.
@tiff_tv Max is the in-form driver in as good a car as the McLaren at this stage of the season. If piastri and Norris keep taking points off each other, Max will win a la 2007
@juneslater17 Chevening is a property which has been used by the government for business for decades if not centuries, generally it's made available for all foreign secretaries regardless of party or affiliation. Ministers cover their own expenses, oh and Lammy isn't Foreign Secretary anymore
@RonnytheT@juneslater17 If you're referring to the EU constitution referendum of 2006, it was no longer needed after the French and Dutch rejected it and the EU had to rewrite it as the Lisbon treaty. Unless you mean 1992 which was a Tory govt, not Brown at all
@Cairo_dombomb @clairebubblepop I'm sorry then, it came across differently. It would be a dream to give my wife the opportunity to work less and be at home more. To manage on one income or maybe one full-time and one part-time wage but the cards are stacked against so many who are working to survive, not live.
@clairebubblepop Simply put: greed. Houses became an investment and went from being 4-5x an average salary to buy to 10-15x the avg salary. Then lenders started offering mortgages to those who couldn't afford them to stop the bubble bursting but they only delayed it until 2008 when it all crashed
@Crusader770526@OnceABobby@andie1105 "our" scriptures? They are not yours, they are God's and they are shared with us so we can understand how to bring God's Kingdom on earth through Jesus. I'm a Christian preacher, they're all our gospels
@SkySports Bernie is 100% Faithful, Karun is a banished faithful because he said something banal that gets picked up at the roundabout table. Nico is OG Traitor and recruits Ted to keep the heat off him.
@Crusader770526@OnceABobby@andie1105 How about when Jesus said to love your neighbour as yourself and when asked "who is my neighbour?" He told the parable of the Good Samaritan, the Samaritan was an immigrant in 1st century Judea. It cannot be any clearer than that. Anti Immigration is not Christian
