Harry Kane is arguably the most deserving to win the 2026 Ballon d'Or based on merit.

-He won three titles with Bayern Munich last season which are the Bundesliga, the DFB Cup, and the Franz Beckenbauer Supercup.

-He was one of the best players at the just concluded World Cup, and Top 2 at the national team based on impact.

-He won the European Golden Boot, and the Golden Boot for Germany.

-He also won the Bundesliga Golden Boot.

-He is Germany Player of the Year.

-He also scored a total of 73 goals for the season, the highest after Messi's record-breaking goals for two different seasons (91, and 82).

Plus Bayern Munich also made it to the Semi-finals in the UCL. This makes him the most outstanding nominee. Wish him the best of luck, hope he wins it.

In as much as I want Lamine Yamal to win it, I’m realistic and know that there is a possibility he won’t win it this year seeing that he was out for two months due to injury and was rushed back from injury to play an intensive World Cup when he hadn’t gotten that match rhythm.

But one thing is certain. Mbappe or Harry Kane shouldn’t be winning it.
