Germany's annual white asparagus obsession is being marked with an inaugural 'day of German asparagus'.

Last year, 110k tonnes of asparagus were harvested in 🇩🇪.

But its popularity among young people is waning: 47% of 18-24 year olds like spargel, compared to 74% of over 55s.
