Congress just dishonored every American veteran.
I served in the U.S. Marine Corps. I dedicated years of my life to this country, our way of life, and our beliefs. I lost friends. I watched wives hold their babies and choke back tears at my friends' funerals.
For that sacrifice, our country recognizes service members. They can proudly say "I served" and carry the title of Veteran.
Now Congress wants to grant that same recognition to service in a foreign military, for the sole benefit of that foreign country, in an ongoing military action being investigated for war crimes against civilians.
That cheapens every veteran's sacrifice. It undermines the honor of military service. And it dishonors this country.
Repost this. Americans need to know. Veterans need to know. The families of service members and veterans need to know. And Congress needs to know we are not ok with this.
The British government is saying they're banning me because I am "a serious risk to the public order" due to my criticism of Israel.
They say that my charge that Israel controls the American government through donations to 94% of Congress, while factual, is antisemitic nonetheless. Don't know if facts will soon be banned in Britain.
I didn't get banned for criticizing the UK, but for criticizing Israel. They broke the irony record by saying it was because I said Israel might control other governments. I wonder if they're going to ban themselves.
Think about it - if I had said that the Israeli government controls the British government so thoroughly that they'll ban someone from coming to the UK just for criticizing Israel, they would have said that was an antisemitic statement. This is absolutely Kafkaesque.
Anyone who thinks Iran will hand Donald Trump a deal he can brag about is living in fantasy. Trump killed Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei, General Qassem Soleimani and a long list of Iran’s senior leaders. Tehran is not going to decorate him with a diplomatic victory after that.
Iran may negotiate when it serves its interests. But it will not reward Trump. It will not give him a trophy. And it will not sign anything he can sell it as a win.
If Trump is furious about Iran’s leverage over the Strait of Hormuz, then Tehran has even less reason to give it up. That card is one of Iran’s strongest, and it will not hand it to him just to calm his anger. On the contrary, Trump can stay angry until the end of his term. Iran is not in the business of rescuing his ego.
Now it’s definitive.
Iran will keep the Strait of Hormuz closed for the next 2 or 3 decades.
Iran will not negotiate -neither with this nor the next US administration.
Iran will emerge as a regional superpower, with or without a nuclear bomb or sanctions relief.
The US has a decades long devastating stalemate on its hands.
The world will pay a hefty price for the US/IS mistakes.
The petrodollar is finished.
The UAE is finished.
US hegemony is finished.
People in the US and around the world will blame and boycott Israel.
The undisputed valor of our troops and the tactical brilliance of our military operations do not equal strategic success.
If they did, Iraq, Afghanistan, Syria, Libya, and Yemen would look very different today.
We can bomb and blockade Iran, or get dragged into something far worse, but none of it will force Iranian leaders to behave the way we want.
We can accept this reality now and clearly define what our actual interests are in the region, or we can be forced to accept it later—after losing more American lives and trillions of taxpayer dollars.
Yes, our military can sustain operations and crush any enemy in nearly any battle (while losing the war). But to what end? What’s in it for the American people?
It's foolish to think we can keep launching these senseless foreign interventions and maintain our status as the world’s most powerful nation.
This is the glaring blind spot that our foreign policy has failed to address for decades.
When Olusegun Obasanjo was looking for a Minister of Finance, he picked Malam Adamu Ciroma. A former CBN Governor and seasoned economic and policy adviser. He later picked Dr Ngozi Iweala, a PhD from MIT and a World Bank senior economic manager. Nenadi Usman was a junior minister and her appointment was strictly political. She didn't qualify for the role.
When Umaru Yar'adua was appointing a Finance Minister, he picked Dr Shamsuddeen Usman, a PhD from London School of Economics and Political Science, former Central Banker, former university academic, and former UBA manager. He later chose Dr Mansur Mukhtar, MSc Cambridge, PhD Sussex (Economics), Senior Economist, and former DG Debt Management Office.
Goodluck Jonathan appointed Olusegun Aganga, Senior Director at Ernst and Young London, MD Goldman Sachs London, World Bank and IMF Board Member. He later reappointed Dr Ngozi Iweala as Coordinating Minister for the Economy.
The rot started with the APC administration. Muhammadu Buhari appointed Kemi Adeosun. She has BSc Economics from the University of East London, a Postgraduate Diploma and certified Chartered Accountant as Finance Minister. She didn't even have NYSC certificate. He later appointed Zainab Shamsuna. She has BSc Accounting from ABU Zaria and MBA from Olabisi Onabanjo University. Was Executive Secretary at NEITI but had no relevant professional work experience in finance.
Bola Tinubu went tribal. He picked Wale Edun, a former Commissioner of Finance in Lagos and merchant banker. He has BSc, and MSc in Economics from the University of London. He later replaced him with Taiwo Oyedele, A HND holder in Accounting, MSc from Oxford Brookes, and former tax consultant at PwC. He has zero work experience in finance.
Dr Doris Nkiruka is a medical doctor. She's a Certified Finance Analyst and MBA holder but have zero work experience in finance administration.
Are you wondering why our economy has deteriorated under the APC administrations? The quality of their strategic appointments has been abysmal. It's either tribalism or nepotism. Merit is a second consideration!
N34trillion is missing, according to the IMF. 34trillion! Yet, we are all quiet. That is 34,000,000 multiplied by 1,000,000. How many are we in Nigeria? These people have stolen our commonwealth. We can't keep quiet!
I will never support the LAWFARE being waged against former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai. @elrufai
Let the courts uphold the rule of law by granting him bail and ensuring he receives a fair trial. Bail is a constitutional right not a tool for punishment or intimidation.
Using bail as a means of caging Nigerians is unjust, unlawful, and unacceptable. It is a practice we must all reject, regardless of who is involved.
The continued detention of Mallam Nasir El-Rufai has created a growing public perception that justice is being overshadowed by external pressure and political considerations. In any democracy, that perception alone is deeply damaging.
Courts must be guided only by law, evidence, and constitutional principle. When a prominent opposition figure and leading voice within a political coalition remains in custody amid unresolved bail issues, many citizens will understandably question whether the process is truly independent, balanced, and free from interference.
No court should allow itself to appear as an instrument of partisan interests. The judiciary exists to protect liberty, restrain abuse of power, and stand above political contests. Where detention appears prolonged without compelling legal necessity, confidence in the system is weakened.
Mallam El-Rufai, like every Nigerian citizen, is entitled to the presumption of innocence, fair treatment, and impartial adjudication. His political relevance should neither advantage nor disadvantage him before the law.
We therefore call for an urgent, transparent, and strictly lawful review of his continued detention and all pending bail matters. Justice must not only be done; it must be seen to be done.
If courts bend to pressure, democracy bends with them.
If courts stand firm, the Constitution stands firm.
Nigeria deserves courts that answer only to the law.
When you came to power, nobody needed loans to go to school. Fees were affordable, money had a little more worth, and citizens could literally depend 70% on businesses to cover the cost of fees.
You entered, stopped Fuel and Light subsidies, trippled the amount for university fees, devalued the Naira and created STUDENTS LOAN.
3 years later, you're using the provision of students loan as a bullet point for your campaign.
Even the devil would not enact this level of wickedness on his people.
So let me get this straight, Tinubu and Wike have decided they won’t approve any “National Event Facility” to the opposition for use, even when they’re paying?
So event centers built with tax payers money have now become the sole property of the APC?
We should not accept this.
Not a single sacrifice this President has made.
When the economy is hardest, he makes zero sacrifice and lives large.
Came into power and splurged on a new Jet, Yatch, mansion for VP, fleet of armored SUV, and billions for travel.
Has a big cabinet with some of the most incompetent ministers we have seen.
We now have an apartheid power supply system that has gotten worst. He goes off grid and splurges on solar.
Fuel prices are high he mouths the same worthless CNG plan and tells Nigerians to be grateful.
People are being killed in hundreds and lazily tweets 2 days later and when he manages go get himself to visit the victims, he addresses them at the airport.
Every other day, something is being named after him. No decorum or class. Just embracing and encouraging shocking levels of subserviency from the shameless political class.
Nigerians pay more for everything. A generation of young people are having their productive years wasted with no form of care or remorse.
I have benefited absolutely nothing from Tinubu’s government. He promises better future that requires sacrifices. Sacrifices he has shown no interest in making.
A leader should be an example. Make some sacrifices. Show you care.
I don’t respect it!
Iran’s delegation to the Islamabad Talks is made up of four men with doctorates:
- Dr. Ghalibaf (Speaker of Parliament)
- Dr. Araghchi (Foreign Minister)
- Dr. Ahmadian (Secretary of the Defense Council)
- Dr. Hemmati (Central Bank Governor)
The US delegation is made up JD Vance, a failed author, Steve Witkoff, Trump’s gold buddy and Jared Kushner, Trump’s son-in-law. None of them have the technical range to negotiate complex nuclear issues.
Iran has just done Nigeria and Africa a massive favour BTW.
By removing any shred of residual legitimacy left on the American empire's naked body, it has made it much harder to sell that "invade Nigeria to 'protect the Christians' " bullshit.
Nobody is ever going to buy the narrative that the guy who was just threatening to "end an entire civilisation" by committing the greatest war crime in human history against millions of civilians, is trying to save any goddamn Christian in Darkest Africa. That agenda is now dead and can now rest in peace.
Closing the Strait of Hormuz for nearly 6 weeks has also had the fortunate unintended consequence of forcing African countries to seek closer energy cooperation with each other. The number of African supply deals signed by the Dangote refinery over the past month would have taken years to achieve without Iran's intervention.
Allowing the war to end now and opening the Strait of Hormuz so that US tankers can pass through makes Nigerian oil less critical to the Star Spangled Motherfuckers, which makes a military invasion to 'protect Christians' all the less likely.
Every Nigerian who knows their arse from their elbow needs to visit their local Iranian embassy today to say thank you.
Iran expresses its appreciation to China and Russia for their responsible conduct and today’s principled use of the veto in the UN Security Council.
By blocking a flawed draft, they upheld the UN Charter and prevented the Security Council from being misused to legitimise U.S. aggression under the pretext of freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz and the Persian Gulf.
They stood firmly on the right side of history.
O Allah,
Shatter the oppressors, restrain them, and make of them a warning to those who seek to follow their ways.
Protect the innocent wherever they are. Shield the vulnerable from every harm. Bring swift justice to those who spread it throughout the earth.
Our Lord, the corruption has been laid bare for all to see. Now let us see the corrupt stripped of their power in every way, and do not let us be counted among them in any way.
