You are getting all wrong. Citizens have more than moral sovereignty. It is a constitutional right, the right of the citizens to elect those who govern them.

International community has the right to ensure the votes of the people count. There is what is called the responsibility to protect in international relations.

A regime protection and patriotism are two different things.

There is no difference between a military rule and a rigged election.
If the people can't determine the winners of elections, there is no sovereignty to protect if the people seek help from aside the country.
