Paul Pierce on Chicago Bulls Front Office saying next GM they hire has to keep Billy Donovan:
“In most cases when a new general manager comes in, he wants to bring in his coach of choice. When you clean house at the top in the front office, it don’t make sense to bring in somebody who hasn’t had the success with the Bulls to keep them in place, you know, and then like if things don’t work out, who do you blame? Do you blame the GM? Do you blame the coach? He’s going to come back to Reinsdorf and say, “Well, you didn’t let me bring my coach in that I wanted.” I understand that Billy Donovan is a solid NBA coach, but like the general manager that comes in, if he has a plan and he has a system that he wants to kind of like implement. You have to allow him to do that. It’s just like if I go and I’m the manager at McDonald’s and you fired all these chefs and everything and you keep the one dude who make the fries and the fries ain’t been good. What? Like dog get him off the fries? Come on. They need to get everybody out of here. Get everybody out of there. Get them all out of here.”
