Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has ordered the relocation of Sayedabad, Gulistan and Mohakhali bus terminals in the capital to restore order on the roads of the capital and solve the long-standing traffic congestion problem.

The two administrators of Dhaka Metropolitan Municipality briefed reporters after a meeting with the Prime Minister on Monday at the third round of the meeting on traffic congestion and traffic management modernization held at the Public Administration Meeting Room of the Cabinet Division of the Bangladesh Secretariat.

A woman attending her hospitalised two-year-old daughter at Natore 250-bed General Hospital was allegedly raped inside the hospital by a sweeper on early Monday.

The victim’s father filed a rape case with Natore sadar police station on Tuesday against the sweeper and his two associates, said officer-in-charge Monsur Rahman.

The accused are Amit, 23, Anil, 23, and Prangon, 24, all of whom work as outsourcing sweepers at the hospital

As part of the drive, members of the outfit visited food stalls and eateries across the city, placing stickers that read "veg pulao" over signboards and menus displaying the term "veg biryani." Vendors were also urged to use "veg pulao" instead of "veg biryani" going forward.

Akhand Parshuram Akhara president Adhir Kaushik said the campaign was "intended to preserve Haridwar's traditional and spiritual character. We are not against the vendors, but they must change the name from biryani to pulao.

When informed that the term "pulao" is also believed to have been derived from a word originating in Persia and that the dish is popular across central and west Asia, Kaushik alleged that he was comfortable using the word "pulao."

At least four people were injured after clashes broke out between alleged members of ISKCON and local Hindu residents in Chattogram's Nandan Kanan area early today (6 June).

According to police and eyewitnesses, a group of ISKCON activists attempted to enter the area surrounding the temple at around 3:30am, triggering an argument with local members of the Hindu community.

The dispute escalated into several rounds of clashes.

Hossain Md Kabir Bhuiyan, deputy commissioner of Chattogram Metropolitan Police's South Division, said the clash stemmed from disagreements over management and control of Loknath Temple.

According to a report by the Washington Post, Donald Trump's team are pushing for his face to appear on a new $250 dollar bill to mark the USA's 250th anniversary, which would make him the first living person on US currency in over 150 years.

Trump allies allegedly pressured staff at the Bureau of Engraving and Printing, and "abruptly reassigned" the director when she expressed concern of federal law, which states only the deceased can appear on US notes.

Though federal law outlawed printing money featuring a living person in 1866, the Trump administration last year drafted legislation that would allow Trump to appear on a $250 dollar bill in time for the nation’s 250th birthday, though the legislation hasn't been taken up yet.

A Treasury Department spokesperson confirmed the plans in a statement to the Post, saying it was conducting “appropriate planning and due diligence” in response to “active legislation.”
