After 32 years, a memorial honoring the victims of the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi in Rwanda was inaugurated in Paris by President Paul Kagame and President Emmanuel Macron.
The ceremony marks another milestone in relations between Rwanda and France, five years after France acknowledged its responsibilities in the genocide.

Ebola in DRC:
Denied entry into Hungary for the UEFA Champions League final due to an Ebola outbreak in his country, the Congolese president was blocked at Budapest Ferenc Liszt International Airport and was obligated to return to Kinshasa.
Sports diplomacy has brought global attention, investors, tourists, conferences and major events to Rwanda. Hotels fill up, airlines benefit, local businesses grow, and young talent gets exposure.
The BAL, #VisitRwanda partnerships, cycling, basketball and continental events are not just “games” they are economic strategy, branding and regional cooperation in action.
Welcome to Rwanda for the #BAL Finals. This is the Africa we want.
According to the Investment Climate Report by the United States of America, Rwanda ranks among Africa’s four least corrupt nations, placing 43rd globally in 2024 after steady improvements. The government prioritizes anti-corruption efforts, actively investigating allegations and punishing offenders. High-ranking officials often resign during probes and face prosecution. As a party to the UN and African Union anti-corruption conventions, Rwanda’s transparency serves as a major incentive for foreign investment, particularly for U.S. firms seeking a stable business environment.
Rwanda signed a deal with Holtec International to develop advanced small nuclear reactors capable of producing about 5 GW of clean electricity, boosting reliable energy supply, economic growth, and U.S.–Rwanda technological cooperation.
Can renewable energy alone power Africa's industrial boom? Experts say no. Renewable sources face limitations providing the continuous baseline power needed for heavy industry.
At the Nuclear Energy Innovation Summit on Africa (NEISA 2026) in Kigali, Rwanda, leaders and global bodies like the IAEA and World Nuclear Association are focusing on SMRs (Small Modular Reactors) as a faster, scalable energy solution. The Goal: Establishing a new Nuclear Energy Financing Reference Framework for the continent.

Nigeria has officially implemented one of the boldest Pan-African moves; a 30-day visa exemption for Rwandan nationals.
This follows a commitment made by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who attended the Africa CEO Forum hosted by Rwanda on May 14–15, 2026.
President Tinubu was reciprocating a similar gesture Rwanda had extended to Nigerian citizens a couple of years ago.
It should be recalled that during the @africaceoforum, which concluded yesterday, both Presidents #Kagame and #Tinubu made a strong case for accelerated intra-African collaboration and solidarity towards a resilient and self-reliant continent.
That being said, the Presidents are obviously walking the talk!
“If M23 is Congolese, how did it become a Rwandan problem or Kagame’s problem? Since M23 are Congolese, it is a Congolese problem, and therefore we need a Congolese solution.
I have never seen citizens with issues against their own government but engage in dialogue to resolve them.”

On 20 November 2019, on his YouTube channel “Ukuri Mbona”, Karasira Aimable declared: «When I said I would commit suicide, people thought I was joking. There will come a day when I actually do it. I have neither a child nor a wife to leave behind… Trust me, suicide is really good. ‘Kwiyahura c’est bon.»
On 23 September 2019, Aimable Karasira publicly revealed on his YouTube channel “UKURI MBONA” that he had attempted suicide twice. He expressed regret that both attempts had failed, stated that taking his own life was something good he planned to do, and mentioned that he was taking courses on how to do it properly.

After years of publicly expressing suicidal thoughts, Aimable Uzaramba Karasira has died by suicide.
According to the Rwanda Correctional Service, he passed away at Nyarugenge Hospital on Thursday, May 7, 2026, after taking an overdose of prescribed medication — on the exact day he was due to be released following his five-year prison sentence for incitement to division.
Karasira had repeatedly voiced his intention to end his life. In a 12 July 2019 interview with Isimbi TV, he openly stated that he planned to take his own life.

The video below is not simply the story of Tshisekedi regretting having threatened to bomb Kigali and having attempted it. What Tshisekedi appears to regret is realizing too late that he lacked the capacity to follow through on his escalatory posture toward Rwanda, after being misled about the true capability of his army. Every escalatory posture has its consequences, but he still seems not to see them.
Today, Kinshasa maintains collaboration with the FDLR, while Rwanda continues to maintain defensive measures along its borders.

"In Belgium, the judiciary is independent and makes its decisions—whether one agrees with them or not—free from any political influence." @prevotmaxime
Lectures Mr @BillWhiteUSA.
Yet Belgium seems to forget its own history of interfering in Rwanda’s judicial sovereignty, while expecting others to unquestioningly respect its institutions. The double standard is hard to ignore, especially when one remembers the interference of Belgium in the Paul Rusesabagina case.
🇺🇸 Mr. Ambassador @BillWhiteUSA,
I urge you to exercise greater restraint and to view your role in its proper context. It is inappropriate to publicly criticize a country and tarnish its image simply because you disagree with judicial proceedings. I have already told you this. Would you consider it acceptable for our Ambassador in Washington to do the same?
In Belgium, the judiciary is independent and makes its decisions—whether one agrees with them or not—free from any political influence.
I recall that the proceedings in question were initiated by representatives of the Jewish community themselves. To portray those as a country’s desire to undermine the religious freedom of Jews is defamatory. This freedom has never been called into question and never will be in our country. Our Constitution protects it.
And it is not for an ambassador to dictate the government’s agenda.
