Fairfield PD and @Fairfieldfire held a joint Active Killer/Active Shooter training today at Paradise Valley Estates. Additional trainings scheduled: Mar 15, 29, 31 and April 4. The trainings ensure personnel remain proficient in the best methods for advancing community safety.
They will service district 37 (downtown Kentucky St), district 40 (Hillborn Rd), and new district 36 (Business Center, Green Valley area).
Each engine costs $850k and is an investment for protecting our community. The fire department's vehicle replacement fund covers the cost.
The Fairfield Fire Department is excited to announce that we took delivery of three new type 1 fire engines. A type 1 fire engine is typically used for structural firefighting and is considered an all-purpose workhorse.
The new engines are replacing a 1995 engine, a 1998 engine, and one for the new fire station 36. These new engines make our entire fleet of type 1 all-Pierce Quantum engines.
Last night was a big night for our fire department.
We presented awards to our employee of the year, firefighter of the year, fire officer of the year, and dispatcher of the year.
We thanked our recent retirees and giving them retirement badges. All of this would not have been possible without the assistance from Vacaville Fire, Suisun City Fire, and Vallejo Fire. They provided coverage so that we could honor those with achievements from this past year.
