Year 3 took part in a World Cup live lesson with Picture News! The children talked about what we can learn from playing sport, what qualities sport can help us with and we thought about whether we can learn anything from losing or winning a game!

Y5 took part in an engaging session exploring knife crime, the serious consequences of carrying a knife, and the impact it can have on individuals, families, and communities. Pupils discussed the importance of making safe, responsible choices

Last week, 47 children celebrated achieving 100% attendance throughout the entire school year with a special pizza party! They enjoyed spending time with their friends in the orchard and tucking into some delicious pizza.

Yesterday, a group of KS2 choir members attended the BIG SING event at Middlesbrough Town Hall. It was a fantastic event, where the children from Fairfield were singing alongside other local schools. The theme of the event was 'The Power of Good'

This week, Y5 children visited their new Year 6 teacher in preparation for September. They took part in a range of activities, working together in groups to solve challenges and complete tasks. It was a fantastic opportunity for the children to meet their new teacher

Year Four have designed and made fantastic sculptures made from recycled materials. We have used inspiration from Newby Hall and sculpting techniques that we have perfected over the last few weeks.

This afternoon, the Y5 children explored the story of the Trojan War and used it to develop their understanding of sequencing. They sequenced the key events confidently before writing their own sequence in their history books.

Year 4 have been adding to our sculpting techniques. We have tried a number of different ways of cutting, folding, rolling, ripping and joining. These skills will be extremely useful when we take part in our recycle sculpture project next week.

Our pupils from year 5 and year 6 represented the school brilliantly at the Tees Valley Athletics Finals yesterday, competing in extremely hot conditions!
Their behaviour throughout the day was exceptional, showing respect, teamwork, resilience and determination in every event.

As part of their history learning this week, Year 6 took part in a Tudor Monarch Challenge. Working in groups, each team was given a different Tudor monarch and asked to investigate their reign. The children researched both the achievements and shortcomings of their monarch
