Again (sadly) we are seeing a lot about the removal of presumption from the usual protagonists. The presumption of parental involvement is a legal principle in England that states that it's in a child's best interest to have a relationship with both parents unless proven .
@Lucie_Fur99@JMoncktonSmith@DrProudman Agreed, namely that understanding the aetiology is critical across the genders. Identification of thematic patterns may help address the issue and reduce deaths. There is a long way to go though.
On average 1 man every 3 weeks is killed by their intimate partner and on average 1.15 women a week. Any murder by an intimate partner regardless of gender is tragic. To make it a single gender issue is an injustice to all those men and women dead https://t.co/Qlo6fMadm5…
@DrProudman I have a great deal of respect for the fierce representation you provide your clients and the outcome here was absolutely right! I have always wondered though, do you represent men or any men who have been victims of domestic abuse?
@TheoryPhd @AzzatAlsaalem These types of horrific behaviours cannot be attributed to a specific religion. Certainly Islam just like Christianity don’t teach this type of barbarically behaviour but sadly some
community’s interpret religion wrongly and make such behaviours a cultural norm. Tragic.
@grannydryden1@DrProudman Misandrist rings a bell. Thanks for your input though. Regrettably you will never break down myths from fact when you cannot be objective. I genuinely wish you all the best though. Take care.
@grannydryden1@DrProudman You’re slipping into making it a gender issue. I don’t think what you say is as common as you presume, though of course it occurs (both ways). I am within it and experience what goes on daily.
@grannydryden1@DrProudman Respectfully, you’re missing the point - it’s not always as simple as one is ‘good’ or ‘bad’. Sometimes issues are so entrenched both parents cause the harm. There are of course many ‘bad’ people too - but some caution needs to be added to gender as a single variable in itself.
@grannydryden1@DrProudman The discourse presented by women and men (each slating the other for their behaviour/abuse) makes it appear that one group is bad and the other wholly good - this spreads hatred. More transparency in the family court will help society understand this isn’t the reality.
