FairPlé aims to achieve gender balance in Irish traditional and folk music. We advocate for equal opportunity and balanced representation for all. #FairPlé
As part of efforts to assist the wonderful 35-piece female choir from Occupied West Bank, Daughters of Jerusalem, in their upcoming tour to Ireland, we’re holding a fundraiser next Wed 1st of Oct, in the Crane to help @_IAFP with costs. Please share & come listen, play & donate
So grateful to be awarded the Harry White Doctoral Prize @SMI_Musicology
My PhD on Women in Irish Traditional Music @MaynoothUni, is informed by my @FairPle activist work, ethnographic, statistical research & historical enquiry. My book, which is based on this, is forthcoming 🥳
Data collected from this #research#survey will be published with the aim of informing deeper understandings into the experiences of #Irishtraditionalmusic practitioners from the #LGBTQIA+ community 👇🥳
Happy Pride! 💖🌈 We advocate for all practitioners including the safety, wellbeing, and inclusion of the #LGBTQIA+ community. Irish traditional and folk music is for EVERYONE!

@whynothereu fit for purpose and shift towards a balanced culture change that embraces diversity, inclusion, and equity. If the UK radio can do it, then so can Irish radio!

Well done to team @whynothereu on such important work 👏 4/4
Why Not Her? just released their Annual Radio Data Report on UK Radio 2023/2024
We @FairPle congratulate UK Radio on a landmark year for gender equality in music with women taking the lead in the Top 100 songs on UK Radio. This significant achievement is not only a triumph.. 1/4
of the Top 100 songs are by Irish female artists (and only 1 living artist; Jazzy).
We echo @whynothereu and call for action! It is time for those who work in Irish radio broadcasting and playlisting to set aside unconscious biases and a process and system that's clearly not 3/4
