@AnthonyGermain @CBCCrosstalk followed their tips in this build - another tip was to ensure the steel mesh goes 12” below ground and 12” out under the ground as some predators will dig down, but won’t dig back once once they hit the mesh
@BoydinNL @tanyagilbert_ It sadly takes profound grief and tragedy for these issues to be addressed. When “nothing happens” there is a sentiment that we can stop investing in police - when in reality that is the dividend we seek
@tanyagilbert_ @BoydinNL There should be focus on how we fully staff and compliment police service’s in these regions rather than questioning the relentless dedication of those involved
@tanyagilbert_ @BoydinNL This is a nightmare for any properly staffed urban police service - the fact it occurred in a rural, understaffed, under-resourced environment is unimaginable.

@edhollett@tim_buckle @HGillisNTV It isn’t more complicated than that. The shift in perspective and context perhaps, but not the basic core of the situation .
@edhollett@tim_buckle @HGillisNTV Police formulate grounds based on existence of evidence meeting a certain criteria. The fact that it hasn’t been done before shouldn’t be a deterrent to forging a new path based on societal changes and shifts. Precedent only happens when there are willing participants.
@edhollett Along with reasonable and probable grounds Police consider probability of conviction, but it’s now viewed as a “win”... or lose. In this case there is an unprovoked intent to disturb - very different from many situations being used as a comparison.
@edhollett @HGillisNTV Agreed that there is no value in degrading the judge; but certainly room for discussion on whether or not there was an err in judgement. Unsure of the relevance related to the customary use of the waste facility.
@simonlono @pjackson_nl @HGillisNTV What exactly was the bad advice? Telling a member of the public that police will take their complaint seriously? Police must be supportive and should encourage victims of all sorts to come forward.
