When that didn't work, and Donald Trump was going to become President, they panicked and tried to overthrow him through Russiagate Part 2 and Mueller.

When that failed, and President Trump found out about their Ukraine ops, he called up Zelensky asking for help.

The coup plotters had to stop President Trump exposing them, hence the fake Ukraine impeachment.
