We reaffirmed our support for the peace process in Türkiye and emphasized the importance of further deepening cooperation in a way that serves the shared interests of the Kurdistan Region, Iraq, and Türkiye.
During my visit to Baghdad, I met with President Nizar Amedi to discuss the importance of safeguarding Iraq’s sovereignty and political independence and supporting the new federal government’s efforts to combat corruption.
Iraq’s new government presents an opportunity to strengthen the country’s sovereignty and shield it from regional and international tensions. In our discussion with Elbrus Kutrashev, Russian Ambassador to Iraq, we agreed that all partners should support this path and help ensure Iraq’s continued progress toward greater political independence.

I held a constructive meeting with H.E. Edi Rama (@ediramaal), Prime Minister of the Republic of Albania, on strengthening ties between the Kurdistan Region and Albania across culture, tourism, and investment.
He commended the Kurdistan Region’s balanced stance amid regional tensions. We expressed hope that dialogue between the United States and Iran will prevail during the ceasefire period, restoring stability.

We emphasized Saudi Arabia’s key role in the development of Iraq and the Kurdistan Region, and reiterated our commitment to facilitating and supporting Saudi investment in the Kurdistan Region.
The Kurdish people do not ask the world for protection; we just remind them of history. This is not the first time support has been given to those who opposed the Kurds—only for the world to later realize the harm done. The Ba’athist regime was once supported against the Kurds; the Kurds endured, while the Ba’ath left behind tragedy and crime.
