She screeches and throws the phone across the room.
“What is that infernal device!?”
When he smiled, her own smile widened a bit. She reached out and patted his cheek in a gentle and sisterly manner.
“Ah, now there is the Gabriel that I know and admire. Keep your head up and your wings straight dear brother. Happiness is just around the corner.”
“I have tried straight tequila for the first time. I do not understand what’s so special about it... it tastes awful. Though I am quite partial to margaritas.”
“Gabriel... lying is a sin. And as angels, we should avoid doing such things. That being said...”
She gave him a soft smile, tilting her head a bit.
“I believe out of all of the angels, you are most deserving of happiness. And it wouldn’t be selfish of you to want to be happy.”
She hadn’t been on earth for long... a few days maybe. It was all very confusing. Public transportation, having to pay for things with paper and plastic. Giant metal birds that carried people from one place to another.
Now she sat in a park. Contemplating... wondering where
things had gone so terribly wrong. Adriel was confused and scared. And so utterly lost. At least she still had her grace. However, she couldn’t say the same for her wings as they had burned up in the earth’s atmosphere when she fell.
