SOCOM was the broader appealing game but so are McDonald’s cheeseburgers. Halo was one of the only reasons to even buy an Xbox back then.

It’s a valid argument but I just never found SOCOM to be worth my time. I knew someone would mention that eventually. Halo was just the better multiplayer game at the time and I think it took awhile for a lot of people to realize it. I had a lot of friends that weren’t really gamers but they knew about SOCOM because PS2 was more mainstream than Xbox. It sold so many more consoles.
