while covering this issue, imbc entertainment was able to hear ceo kim’s thoughts on the 8th, one day before #youngjae’s public call-out. the phone conversation came only after 2 weeks of attempts to reach kim, who had repeatedly postponed giving a statement with responses such as, “i’m in a meeting,” and “now isn’t a good time to talk.”

ceo kim opened her explanation with a formal apology, saying:
“i’ve been so busy with casting that i’m only now contacting you,” and then launched into a lengthy explanation. however, much of it seemed unrelated to the core issue, such as, “i have been in charge of production from season 1 through season 3,” and, “season 3 was originally planned for 2027, but we had to move the schedule forward due to venue availability.”

when asked why the appearance fees had been delayed:
“unfortunately, the show’s box-office performance was somewhat lacking, and in particular, the regional performances ended under difficult circumstances, so we couldn’t immediately process the payments. but it’s not like we could resolve it using the investment funds for season 3, right? while we were working to resolve the problem, the payments were temporarily delayed, which led to misunderstandings.”

ceo kim also claimed that all of the problems had now been resolved.
“after sincere communication and a lot of effort, the issue was resolved well. fortunately, the dancers understood us, and some even thanked us instead, agreeing to participate in season 3 after reducing a portion of their appearance fees. of course, it would have been better if we had completely settled the issues from season 2 before moving forward, but the delays happened unintentionally.”

“we never set a deadline to make the payments within one or two months. we only promised to pay them roughly before or after the performances. as such, there shouldn’t have been any issue with the production proceeding. i wonder if perhaps the companies that were unwilling to bear or endure the risks expressed their disappointment early on. there’s no need to worry about this issue.”

however, despite youngjae’s public call-out, the issue of unpaid appearance fees for some actors still remains unresolved. according to imbc entertainment’s reporting, some staff members have also yet to receive compensation for their work and are continuing to voice strong dissatisfaction.

when these issues were brought up, ceo kim replied:
“no. payment of the appearance fees for the dancers has all been completed.”

but soon afterward changed the nuance of her statement, saying,
“most of it has been sorted out.”

from there, the conversation became a cycle of excuses and promises with no definite timeline. she even lied regarding a lawsuit that had been filed. ceo kim explained:
“when the director changed, there were also changes to the sets and musical numbers, and confusion surrounding these costs led to some payments being postponed until june. the remaining payments are also scheduled to be made once discussions regarding the regional performances are concluded in june. we are working hard to resolve everything. we plan to solve all issues before ticket sales open at the end of june. these are simply problems arising as part of the process of resolving everything.”

regarding the lawsuit, she stated:
“after seeing the quality of dream high and recognizing our sincerity, they understood our position. we agreed to draw up a repayment confirmation agreement and have the lawsuit withdrawn, and the case is practically resolved. there’s no need to worry.”

even as the call came to an end, ceo kim continuously emphasized “truthfulness” and “sincerity.”
“it’s true that we’re going through temporary difficulties, but i never had any intention of hurting those who were affected. various circumstances arose, and the payment schedule ended up being delayed unintentionally. i have already asked those involved for their understanding.”
