Six women joined the walk where we talked about perimenopause, oestrogen and phytoestrogens. It was so good to have the chance to talk openly. Everyone shared their own experiences, and there were lots of questions about diet and what really helps.

Some men may notice lower energy, reduced libido, mood changes or loss of muscle mass, but these changes are usually gradual rather than the significant hormonal shift women experience during menopause.4/5
Every week we hold a nutrition talk, and today the topic was detox diets. However, with so many questions the session took a different direction.
We ended up discussing 2 topics:
Diet and arthritis
Iron deficiency

but those who came discovered something wonderful, walking in the rain doesn’t hurt you. If anything, it left us feeling refreshed and energised for the rest of the day. It’s all about pushing yourself, stepping outside your comfort zone, and letting the magic unfold..3/3
Steps to Health was a resounding success today and I say that with full confidence!
One of our ladies, who is usually quite sceptical about walking, not only showed up but braved the rain to do it.

Every week, on our walks at the end of each walk,we discuss a specific topic related to diet& nutrition. Today’s focus was on fibre. I shared @dremilyleeming book which is a fantastic resource if you want to boost your fibre intake with delicious recipes and practical tips.
SAWH is truly a dream come true!Seeing these amazing women step out of their comfort zones, braving the weather, some managing health conditions, others coming out after years of isolation,&still showing up, making that extra effort….is absolutely inspiring.

As it was #mentalhealthawarenessweek
, after today’s walk we had a discussion about how our diet can support positive mental health. It was a lovely session after the walk, and we were able to answer many questions.
