Sahih al-Bukhari 7372
Narrated Ibn `Abbas:
When the Prophet (ﷺ) sent Mu`adh to Yemen, he said to him, "You are going to a nation from the people of the Scripture, so let the first thing to which you will invite them, be the Tauhid of Allah.
Ibn Qudamah رحمه الله said:
"And know that most people were only ruined due to fearing the blame of people & loving their praise.
So all of their actions became in accordance with what pleases people, hoping for praise & fearing criticism."

Shaykh Ibn Baz رحمه الله said:
"Allah's way with His servants is that whoever supports the truth, remains steadfast upon it, and strives against his own nafs in doing so,
Allah will grant him a good end."
