Let's assume Putin is 100% right.

Let's assume Russia occupies all of Ukraine, Moldova, Poland, Finland, and a few other countries for good measure.

Now imagine you're French, German, or British.

How exactly does that make your country safer, richer, or more influential?

What strategic, military, political, or economic advantage does a larger Russian empire bring to your nation?

I genuinely cannot think of one.

So why would any European support such an outcome?

I honestly see only two possibilities: either you've never thought it through, or you're arguing against your own country's interests.
