movies & more...mostly movies :: used to stay ahead of the game...but I get there eventually (Past Forewords?) Ayo Edibiri & Michaela Coel everywhere, please.
Michaela Coel shares new details on the new series that she is currently writing:
“It’s about a British girl who goes to Ghana. And it’s about the people that she meets, the circumstances she finds herself in, her relationship with her parents and about her sense of self. You may have an idea of where you stand in the world, but the minute you move and you stand somewhere else, your position changes. If you are not aware of how your standing, your social standing, changes when you move to a place like Ghana, you can land yourself in very silly, embarrassing and terrible situations. Will she learn from her experience or will she end up back where she started?”

Our own @RichardERoeper calls season 4 of @TheBearFX "on balance...one of the most buoyant and joyous pieces of television I’ve experienced in years."

War does not solve problems; on the contrary, it amplifies them and inflicts deep wounds on the history of peoples, which take generations to heal. No armed victory can compensate for the pain of mothers, the fear of children, or stolen futures. May diplomacy silence the weapons! May nations chart their futures with works of peace, not with violence and bloodstained conflicts!

I def recommend IMAX
- likely China's submission to the Oscars, as was its predecessor
- likely breaks into Best Animated
The most important speech at the Oscars last night was Sean Baker’s warning that films are not in the theaters anymore. I went to an Oscar party and no one paid attention because the majority hadn’t seen the movies. The Academy must expand the time films have to be in theaters. One week is not enough. #Oscars
