@connaughtwoman@RnaudBertrand It's okay! Oral exams aren't so common, but I think that they could become a valuable tool over written assignments with all the LLM stuff.
@thewhosam@mikitaposts I don't think that's what they're basing it on at all.
Usefulness could for example put Dutch and Scandinavian languages lower down because English is spoken very well in those countries.
It could also be usefulness in terms of business, which would put Chinese pretty high up.
@captain_po41223@japan_nobunaga Lmao that's absolutely nonsense re: Japan.
Also from what I understand in the US the expectations these days are more like 15-20%.
@OnLon10@cx_clips Foreigners getting involved in this kind of situation in Japan often ends poorly for them, unfortunately. If they were to pull the guy off of the girl then there's a reasonable chance that they'd be the ones that'd get in trouble.
@JasnTru@ebibebibae Every company I've ever worked for/with has always covered necessary visa fees, so I'd assumed it was the norm -- didn't realise that's not the case!
@AbeltDeslok@bunburyoudoujp OP is talking about citizenship, not permanent residency.
Once you've obtained citizenship you are by no means a guest at all.
@kellymilkies@Ohshidash Doesn't snaptap firmly fit in the former category that @Ohshidash mentioned? It's effectively the software unpressing a key for you.
