As females,we washed our fathers two cars. My younger brothers were both below 10yrs

Every morning,I carry my rag and bucket downstairs. I’ll climb the tyre,so my hand could reach the top

Our neighbor had big daughters (uni babes) that’s washed his cars until his teenage son took over

My dad had V-boot & Nissan. We protested that he should allow us wash the one he’ll drive out and leave out the other one. Mum joined us to beg him but he said something..

He said “when I’m paying fees,I don’t protest or when you���re demanding for more provisions and pocket money,I don’t complain”..
Is your gender,the reason why you feel you’re not meant to wash my cars?
Is it because my sons aren’t grown like you people?
You’re all in boarding school and the only chance you can assist me, is during holiday”

PS:He visited car wash for thorough cleaning on weekends while we did regular cleaning

My sisters and I kept shut,we washed without complaining until he asked us to wash only the car he takes out more (v-boot).

Initially,I was shy to wash it cos it looked unladylike until neighbors started telling my dad that he has good daughters,that they see tiny me,climbing bonnet & tyre to wash his cars

If there was twitter in that era,I wonder if we would have had the guts to drag our dad online..

In my time,Children ran errands delightfully..

This is why I laugh when people with no job say things like it doesn’t mean much when they spend N12k on a meal in the name of date. Such persons don’t appreciate Nigerian parents.
