Writer (Shindig!) & Musician (Full Fathom 5). First book 'Synths, Sax & Situationists: The French Musical Underground 1968-1978' published in August 2025.
I'm delighted to be reviewing this great new book about the French musical underground, politics and more in the late 60s/70s for the next issue of the brilliant MOOF Magazine.
I’m interviewing Richard Pinhas for the book at the moment and this amazing compilation arrived today - with a whole side of prime Heldon live from 1977.

I'm writing my chapter on Gong at the moment and just had a breakthrough on how to handle the narrative while listening to the Live at Hyde Park, June '74 recording! You may not get the same feeling I got - but it's definitely worth a listen!

@ByronColey1 Hi Byron, sorry for hi-jacking your comments. Though as an Aussie (albeit from Brisbane, not Melbourne) it's almost appropriate. I sent you a Twitter message a week ago about a book I'm writing on 70s French Underground rock. Just alerting you that it's in your inbox!
