The BBC should *never* draw attention to 'two way' contests in by-elections, especially when wider national issues are at play. The constitution *dominates* in Scotland to the extent that advertising the main rival to the SNP is de-facto tactical campaigning.
It's been going on for years. During the Holyrood election the BBC highlighted 'key marginals'. It helped BritNats identify the party most likely to defeat the SNP. During the 2018 GE campaign the BBC tried to sell Brexit by focusing on constituencies where fishing dominated. Yes, fishing was framed as Scotland's most important sector by the BBC.
The only thing that should be highlighted and scrutinised are the policies of each party standing. Even vox-pops should be banned as they are open to manipulation through editing.
@ArtyBagger Uh, Muriel, flags are inherently political
It's just that other flag we need rid of, the one we don't need, that confirms Scotland's continued annexation
The Saltire is Scotland's alone, for all Scots, regardless of origin
#DissolveTheAnglostate! 🏴
McGinty also managed to take a pop at Monday's public holiday and link the tartan army partying to violence against women. It's been a bad month for the BritNats and they're not slow to show it.
Just in case Reporting Scotland tonight conceals the fact it was the SNP who asked HMRC to check VAT claims made against Murrell's purchases, here is exactly what the FM said.
@SaulStaniforth Mandelson was de facto Deputy PM & a cabinet minister when insider trading with Epstein; he was well-rewarded by Jeffrey. Current ministers benefited from freebigate & Burnham made £17K from renting out his London flat whilst claiming 2nd homes allowance. Corruption is the norm.
@SaulStaniforth In Oct 2020, the Parliamentary Commissioner for Standards rebuked Allin-Khan for breaching the Code of Conduct for MPs. As this was her *3rd* breach of the rules, the matter was referred to the Parliamentary Committee on Standards. The sheer arrogance of her description of herself!
@SaulStaniforth@drummergirl2000 I thought her comments were all about political point scoring
I for one believe Sturgeon
At least ( to my knowledge) Sturgeon hasn’t taken funding from Israeli lobbyists unlike many Labour MPs
@Channel4News So as per C4s own guidelines did you actually ask for an interview or response beforehand? (Doorstepping should not take place unless a request for an interview or response has been refused)
@annewitha_e@Channel4News Yes it's very sad that even Channel 4 shows it has an anti Scottish bias like the rest of the basically English media, working for England...
