Forum for African Women Educationalists (FAWE) Uganda Chapter is one of the 35 chapters of Forum for African Women Educationalists (FAWE), a Pan African NGO.
The Day of the African Child began with children demanding better from education. Fifty years on, that fight continues, especially for girls. FAWE Uganda remains committed to changing that.
#DayOfTheAfricanChild

#MenstrualHealthDay
No girl should miss school, feel ashamed, or lose opportunities because of her period.
@UNICEFUganda joins partners this #MenstrualHealthDay to call for safe, affordable menstrual products, clean WASH facilities, & stigma-free #PeriodFriendlyWorld environments #ForEveryChild
“Menstruation should never be a barrier to learning, health, participation or opportunity.” @UNICEFRepUG Robin Nady the @UNICEFUganda country Representative.
Robin also emphasized that menstrual health is not just about products it is about dignity, education, health, gender equality, WASH, accountability, and opportunity.
He called for stronger systems, sustainable financing, affordable and quality menstrual products, and collective action across government, civil society, development partners, communities, and the private sector to build a truly #PeriodFriendlyWorld where every girl and woman can participate fully and confidently.

Well articulated.Through the SHARE Consortium, FAWE Uganda has worked to equip learners with Adolescent Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights knowledge, because true education must support the whole child. It is important for girls to have knowledge on menstruation. #MHDay2026 #PeriodFriendlyWorld #menstruationmatters
True education must focus on the whole child, not just academic performance. This includes intellectual growth, but also physical wellbeing, discipline, personal care, and emotional stability.
When we invest in both the mind and body of a learner, we create stronger, healthier, and more capable citizens who can confidently navigate life’s challenges and opportunities.
