Elon Musk is rapidly becoming the largest spreader of disinformation in human history, hijacking political debates in the process. The EU must take action!
The visibility of all accounts linked to Ukraine is falling absurdly. More than 1000 followers moved to BS to protest... 😢
If you can, please share.
December is not only my difficult everyday life. It will be even more difficult. 💔
Please RT and boost. 🥺
I'm pretty sure we were all duped by Elon. The way I see it, his support for MAGA started long before his actual announcement for supporting Trump, and I'm pretty sure he was already planning to use Twitter as a political tool when he bought it.
Elon is not stupid. He may be silly and socially awkward, but not stupid. He also has a ton of advisors who probably told him that Twitter/X would bleed money, especially the way he's running it. But buying a social media platform, removing all guardrails and supercharging it with relatively good AI like Grok made it a powerful tool for social manipulation.
MAGA and Musk know that the Kremlin supports them, so there's zero reasons to curb foreign influence operations on X. Let them roam free and wreak havoc among Trump's adversaries. 44 billion is nothing compared to what Elon gets from tax cuts and new deals while working under Trump.
But what's their end game now that Trump is the president and they most probably control the Senate and the House, too? Lemme theorize:
As Project 2025 outlines, Trump's (and now Elon's) main adversary is China. Trump has stated that he's planning to launch a trade war against Beijing, and this would affect Tesla's businesses, too. The Tesla gigafactory in Shanghai could be in trouble, and the raw materials required for building electric vehicles could become more challenging without China.
So what's the alternative? Russia, of course! They have plenty of raw materials and Elon was planning to launch a Tesla plant in Russia already back in 2021. Recently, we learned that Musk has been in contact with Vladimir Putin since late 2022, as has Trump.
Trump allies like Vivek Ramaswamy have also been saying that “Our goal should not be for Putin to lose,” that the US involvement in Ukraine is strengthening the Russia-China military alliance, and that this can be only prevented by giving Putin what he wants.
So, I think that Trump and Musk will eventually throw Ukraine under the bus, abandon their allies in Europe, lift sanctions against Russia and actually start collaborating with the Kremlin.
I really hope I'm wrong.
For fun, this is a picture of me in the fall of 2008. I was a regional field organizer working for Senator Russ Feingold. I spent 12 hours a day 7 days a week for months making phone calls, organizing volunteers, prepping campaign events, and knocking on people's doors.
Campaigning and organizing for what you believe in is very tough work. Losing can be a traumatic experience for the people who gave the most. However... You win some. You lose some. You are never really defeated though unless you permanently give up.
No successful movement in American history (women's rights, labor rights, civil rights) was able to succeed without having many devastating setbacks. They didn't give up.
American democracy has endured for 248 years. I am going to fight like hell to make sure it makes it to 252 years.
@KasiABrown@thatonemaddy I’ve identified a bit w/millennials because I went digital early. I too understood the media landscape from both perspectives and it shaped how I interact and consume information.
I hedge on citing media as the key pivot tho. 45-55 is a shit time in life. Grief fucks with you.
@Meronym6 @JustinNiedziel1 Exactly this. I’m still here b/c there are Ukrainians to support. Don’t have time to be here much unfortunately, but still return to donate and do what little else I can.
@thatonemaddy True blooded Xers said some similar things too & we’re all going WTF rn. I do have hope for millennials. You’re the only generation born digital while analog was still prominent. Gen Z only knows the ruins of analog media. Gen X backed into digital thru a rear view mirror.
No matter what happens, there's still a Russian invasion of Ukraine. I signed up for a monthly $24 donation to United 24's medical fund and also dropped $100 into the defense fund.
I've given our fucked up world some thought I've decided to get worse.

Valid opinions of course may differ but
I think a very generally agreeable Job 1 for everyone is, survive, breathe, feel what you feel, wrap your head around what's going on
Job 2 is gonna be, even if it's different people, in a different form than you expected, organize
@ok_nero @NowW_MoreCheese@wzowl@jimstewartson I wouldn’t be making nearly as much money as I am if I wasn’t in California and my tags are cheap. Been riding the same wheels for 25 years. Life’s good here. Would be even better if you left though. 👋
@ldoveivy @harris_wins That’s not the point. She probably won’t end up winning that county. The point is that it’s not even supposed to be in question.
@ElonJoin839 @harris_wins She probably won’t win it either, but it’s a bad sign for Orange Shitler that it’s this close in places he’s supposed to have strong support.
