Is the United States at risk of abandoning Taiwan?
In a new op-ed for @ProSyn, SCSP's Director for Global Partnerships, Channing Lee, argues that despite competing global priorities and shifting political language, the ties binding Washington and Taipei are stronger and more resilient than ever.
Instead of relying solely on presidential statements, the relationship is now deeply embedded in the tech infrastructure, subnational ties, and trusted supply chains.
"Taiwan’s future no longer depends solely on how much attention the US government is giving to it at any given moment. It depends, instead, on Taiwan’s expanding presence within the institutions, economies, and technologies of the free world."

According to White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt, U.S. President Donald J. Trump does not view the Iranian seizure of the MSC Francesca and Epaminodes as a violation of the ceasefire framework, saying that the vessels were not U.S. or Israeli vessels. She also added that such actions only amount to piracy.
