I enjoyed fascinating our community liaisons professional learning time.
They appreciated time with their level alike teams and are set to collaborate across our district to make an impact on student achievement by eliminating roadblocks for students !
Those who seek to correct historical inequities and fight against the status quo will face resistance. Inequity is not inevitable with strong leadership. Be bold. Make a difference. Transition. Use your time in power for good. #NashvilleUnchained#FindingtheJosephWithin

Great leaders model, inspire challenge, enable and encourage! I am grateful for the opportunity to have had quality conversations with these two amazing FCPS leaders. Thanks for engaging with me as I lead the restorative journey in our district ! Happy Day 1.
Kicking off our welcome back to all @FCPSMaryland supervisors and administrators—Dr. Dyson brings us inspiration & a model of the belief—to know us well is to serve us well. She shares….
“I’m hopeful about everyone sitting in a seat in this room. You are supposed to be here.”
“You are going to do great things for kids.”
“My job is to make sure that the right people are in the right places so that you can empower your teachers to do the right thing for our students.”
“Wherever you are situated in this system, you make a difference.”
“Never forget. YOU MATTER.”
Be you and know you can do anything you are presented with well.
If it’s easy, challenge yourself with more, if it’s hard identify the strengths inside of you and the support within your community!
When you love what you do , you never work a day in your life … great birthday with my new team we squeezed in lunch! My SONshine took me to dinner and made me chocolate covered strawberries. My daughter sent me roses and paid for strawberries for her brother #family
I just took two minutes for cocoa and cards for a quick wellness break. In my box I noticed my daughter had prepared thank you notes for her graduation gifts.
Don’t miss the messages here. ❤️
Restorative approaches is 80 percent community building and 20 percent resolving conflict. Restorative conferences can’t be forced and each person must volunteer to hold themselves accountable.
Since it is TBT in the life of an avid social media guru… let’s scroll back to the summer of 2016.. these core values were in place for PBIS and first up for review with our leadership team to ensure we all were able to see them reflected in our mission and vision ..
Summer is a great time to consider the 80 percent in your systems and processes specifically designed to build relationships and community! Here is an example from WFMS…
Restorative practices is the social science of relationships. Relationships matter. Building community WITH staff, students and parents is 80 percent of the definition of restorative practices. Each year as Principal from 2016 - 2019 was all about relationships.
