While sporting millionaires fundraise for money to pay for their hate & Dutton says refugee women lie about being raped, I turn my energy towards helping not hurting people. You can too tonight by helping @ASRC1 provide a roof over the head of refugees. That’s values in action.
Reminder: If you’re a minority and feel really exhausted, don’t worry it’s 100% normal to be tired when constantly pushing against structures rigged against you and the fact some sections of the community despise you for merely existing, also you might not be getting enough iron.
Actually the gender of the murderer matters. 90% of deaths by violence for women come at the hands of men. Also these men are not “evil people” they’re ordinary men and the most likely place for a woman to be killed or raped is not in a public place but rather their own home.
With another woman killed today can no one lecture women about regulating themselves in public spaces & making sure they’re safe. Women never have luxury of thinking/acting otherwise. Can we lecture men instead about male entitlement/privilege & what it reaps if left unchallenged
Women are still having to regulate what they wear, where they go, who they tell, how late they stay out to how much they drink or at least be conscious of it because male entitlement remains the greatest threat to women’s safety. We need to be better men. We must raise better men

Do you know what’s the fastest growing group of homeless Australians are?
It’s Women over 55.
Women are forced to leave workforce for reasons such as male violence in the family home & having to be the carer for elderly parents or disabled children.
Time to #RaiseTheRate
Breaking down in tears, the husband and father of the two Australians killed in the attacks has described the moment his wife and ten-year-old daughter died in his arms.
I’m on @RNBreakfast now speaking about the devastating impact of the Australian Government cutting people seeking asylum off all income support (known as SRSS). @ASRC1
Today's #illinisocialJ class was about hate speech and content moderation. I showed @propublica's amazing investigation of the subject, but found myself just lost trying to explain the rules. I do enjoy having them imagine being a content mod for YouTube as their first job
My love to the people of Sri Lanka & the Australian Sri Lankan community. My heart breaks. The scale of human loss and devastation is obscene. These terrorists stand for nothing but sickening hate & a thirst to divide us & turn us against one another. These bastards will not win.
A reminder of how hopeless this government is when it comes to male violence against women. The problem is the violence of men, not women. Invest in changing it and in the meantime resourcing women’s refuges/housing and support for women and children. https://t.co/9eAmR58gqg
