The market for Sphear is really picking up, more companies inside of the insurance space are using A.I and now there's reportings in the insurance forums/magazines that they are starting to feeling some of the need for A.I compliance software.
Not made an update in a WHILE.
So what happened over september?
TLDR:
1. Tried multiple cold email campaigns.
2. Rebuilt how the backend operates.
3. Signed up for some upcoming events.
Thread below.
3. Golden ticket? I have signed up for more events that are upcoming and I believe an in person appearance is going to be exactly what I need to get my first pilot users after going through cold emails & forums.
When people did reply it was mostly useful information I had missed before. These replies gave me more context and allowed me to either refine my wording, offer or go after someone completely different. 2/2
So I'll continue with the cold emailing for now and maybe some events.
I have been doing outreach the past 2 weeks now via cold email, I have had some useful replies that allowed me to redefine my offer even more and reach the right people.
I got hit with a lot of people being on holiday, ofc I got the no replies. However when people did reply 1/2
Just had a call with a VC from an insurtech incubator.
Very useful call - It wasn't a pitch just a feedback on the product call, key take aways include:
1. Targeting underwriters is going to be a challenge because their slow to adapt.
2. My GTM plan sounds good.
3. Focus on capturing forward thinking Underwriters as their slow to change their workflow.
4. The product should be framed as working alongside their current workflow.
I am not sure how cold email would work for this market, I'd need some feedback on this from anyone in the #insurtech space, I have thought about forums, I did sign up to a major US one earlier this summer and had little luck, Reddit seems to be very mod heavy/ no promotion :/
Some updates on the product as I've not posted for a while:
1. Encryption - I have applied new Cryptography methods to the file structure - so when a company shares their decision record it's more secure.
6. 2/2 I am still brainstorming a plan on how to do this -I am banned from Linkedin for using my company logo on my personal page and they won't unban me, that would be the simpliest way to connect, so now I'm thinking of attending more events/creating content on youtube.
@Lloyds_Lab Did not get accepted into this, but we move forward anyways.
It would have been a really beneficial environment to learn more about the insurance market and to have that direct 1-1 feedback on the product would have been great to receive.
I've officially applied to @Lloyds_Lab ! Building SphearAI has been an incredible, fast-paced challenge. I'm really looking forward to collaborating & learning with world-class mentors to change the future of insurance underwriting if accepted! #InsurTech#AI
