This morning, I am restating my call for a national dialogue on Local Government administration in Nigeria.

The call is timely for us in Bayelsa State to enable our government create the numbers of LGAs we can effectively cater for.

While I acknowledge the interest of President Bola Tinubu, GCFR, in repositioning local government administration in the country, this national dialogue will examine the process for creation, the structure, functions, and funding for the councils.

It is unfair to retain the eight LGAs status for a state that is contributing huge resources to the nation’s economy and I do not expect that the Federal Government should ‘sit’ in Abuja to create LGAs for us!

I wish to appreciate our leader and father, Dr Goodluck Ebele Jonathan,GCFR, @GEJonathan for joining us on our 5th Anniversary to perform the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of a new 25,000 capacity ultra-modern stadium at Igbogene, Yenagoa Local Government Area of Bayelsa State.

We are being deliberate in building new facilities to boost sports development in the State.

This afternoon, I had the honour of having my Brother-Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Pastor Umo Eno @_PastorUmoEno inaugurated the dualised 2.1 kilometres Road 2 in the New Yenagoa City as part of activities marking our 5th Anniversary.

The road connects both the New Commissioner's and Legislator’s Quarters in the new city.

Truly, we are building a modern city in Yenagoa.
