Combustion CFD consultant and researcher. Developing the FRESCO CFD code. Sempre fortissimo, e con strepito. 🇺🇸

The faster agents are getting, the closer you can get to a flow state where context switching doesn't hit as hard anymore #AIpilled

@theo Parallel programming

[Federico Perini @FedericoPerini]

Same as happening in cars, with big touchscreens instead of physical buttons. Cheaper but (I'm calling it) unsafe. Driver gets distracted searching for buttons

[Blake Scholl 🛫 @bscholl]

This is so colossally stupid I’m at a loss for words.

Boeing has a decades old flight computer design with a custom physical keyboard and monospace text UI.

They introduce a touch version of this, by taking the literal same design and making it all screen.

A @NobelPrize for a Badger 🏅

Congratulations to Francis Halzen, named the 2026 Nobel laureate in physics for his groundbreaking work with @uw_icecube to advance our understanding of neutrinos and the universe’s most energetic events.

@theo Whenever you’re exposed to something better/easier/faster/etc that immediately becomes the baseline. Even a tiny hiccup feels like a big degradation then. It has to be some sort of evolutional bias

Opus 5.5 is an incredible workhorse, but it still doesn't have the spark. Fable is still a necessary orchestration/review model for complex tasks

[Federico Perini @FedericoPerini]

@ChShersh Agreed, but then we wanna see where the corresponding x high models fall at 😬

[Federico Perini @FedericoPerini]

@SebAaltonen @schteppe Only C seems obviously up in the same 2025+ period though. what are the other languages compensating for that reduction?

[Federico Perini @FedericoPerini]

@Xaraphim No, but it’s the only reasonable option to get any decent amount of output off any subscription plan

[Federico Perini @FedericoPerini]

@trq212 If I have a Fable session and I ask it to open and Opus chip, most of the times the chip will still open a new Fable session, and switching model back then burns a lot of unnecessary tokens 🙏🙏🙏

[Federico Perini @FedericoPerini]

@trq212 Please, give us the ability to choose the model when we open chips in a new worktree 🙏🙏🙏

[Federico Perini @FedericoPerini]

@SebAaltonen Absolutely. Same in HPC. Would be nice to see how Fable does as a third row of this chart!

[Federico Perini @FedericoPerini]

Fable putting global collectives everywhere to sync parallel meshes - not the way it's ever going to work buddy 🧐 #CFD

[Federico Perini @FedericoPerini]

FRESCO Vaporization GUI coming up nicely. C7/C10 drop at 348 K. No external inputs required: Pick experiment + model + solve + verify in one place.

[Federico Perini @FedericoPerini]

Mantova version being accurate

[Federico Perini @FedericoPerini]

@chenna1985 trying to say that modern software has this tendency to have so few buttons and that is often the selling point, ok for a notes app, but skilled engineering relies on haptic memory, it needs rich dashboards and buttons and things to click that don’t change place at every update

[Federico Perini @FedericoPerini]

@IvanPribec Kinda hard to say, it (20$ plan) went in the blink of an eye

[Federico Perini @FedericoPerini]

Astraaaaaaaaa wtf?
