Highest student enrollment in two decades? Nothing.

Fastest growing college/university in Jax and fastest growing HBCU in Florida? Complete silence.

A complete doubling of overall academic degree program offerings? Not a peep.

Across the board salary increases for faculty (first in sixteen years) and record high bonuses for staff? Not a news report anywhere to be found.

Millions in campus capital infrastructural improvements that literally transform the campus aesthetic, significantly increase campus safety, and improve the overall student experiential and learning environment? Crickets.

Produce nearly 25 new black MBA professionals for the city and community as a result of the institutions first ever cohort of graduate students? You barely even noticed.

Multiple successive years of fiscal solvency (after years of media coverage concerrning financial and long past accreditation turmoil) leading to record high contributions to the institutional endowment to support the sustainability of Florida’s FIRST HBCU? You feign complete ignorance despite touting your "investigatory" prowess and skill.

Become the State of Florida’s ONLY NCAA Division II level HBCU athletic program and bring Jax MULTIPLE championships across MULTIPLE sports including a back-to-back NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP team and only a single Jacksonville news outlet gives it prominent placement (shouts out to the fair and balanced effort in covering our athletics programs made by @FCNsports. We thank you! 💪🏿) or mention.

Last week we graduated a BRILLIANT young black woman valedictorian who was the first in her family to attend college and is a product of the first cohort of our Honors College (established in 2019 through generous support from @duPontFund) and who is now headed this upcoming Fall to the Ivy League's Brown University to earn a Ph.D. in Molecular and Cell Biology on a full scholarly fellowship (a nearly 500k package) including coverage of full tuition and fees, housing, and a living expense stipend, and yet YOU REFUSE to devote a single column inch or portion of your newscast to her AMAZING story!

But let a single mouse run loose in a residence hall of 200 college students and you're on site immediately with your news crews reporting live or ready to unleash a scathing thirty column inch investigatory written report featuring an inflammatory headline chronicling the exploits of furry fievel and ratatouille. It's beyond sickening and shameful and at best indicates your obsession with scurrilous sensationalism and at worst wreaks of your unseemly bias against fairly and positively positing Jacksonville's contemporaneously relevant and thriving historically black institution of higher learning.

We are A RESPLENDENT GEM and an indispensable RESOURCE and GROWING ECONOMIC and EDUCATIONAL POWER in this community and it's PAST TIME that Jacksonville and particularly it's media and news syndicates in print, radio, television, and digital mediums wake up and pay attention to the FORCE for upliftment, advancement, and POSITIVE CHANGE that we and our institution represents! It's TIME!
