Congratulations to the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia on Gazetting Its AfCFTA Provisional Schedule of Tariff Concessions (PSTCs)!
What does it mean to gazette or domesticate a trade commitment? It is an official announcement that enhances transparency, ensuring that businesses, organisations, and citizens are informed of new regulations coming into force. This marks a key step towards the full implementation of the AfCFTA Agreement.
For traders, this provides clarity and certainty, confirming that Ethiopia will grant preferential tariff treatment to eligible goods upon importation, in line with its commitments under the AfCFTA Agreement.

Former Deputy Finance Minister Mona Quartey asserts that the nation's focus regarding the exchange rate should be on achieving stability to facilitate planning and budgeting, as opposed to a drastic reduction.

At Mach 1.7, Overture outflies Earth’s rotation. So you can have breakfast in London… and fly to New York… for breakfast. And then to San Francisco just in time for breakfast.
In fact if you just keep flying west you can keep having breakfast indefinitely.

For doing catastrophic damage to the country, the NPP has suffered a catastrophic loss. That is a cautionary tale to us in the NDC.If the Ghanaian electorate has plucked feathers from the back of tortoise, you can imagine what they will do to a chicken.
We know the challenges that define our age demand African leadership. One out of every four human beings on Earth will live in Africa by the year 2050. The ingenuity and determination of young Africans in particular … will be undeniable forces in that human progress. –@POTUS
Kenya’s #AfCFTA Trading Company, #Real Sources Africa, had its 1st shipment of goods from #Nairobi, #Kenya under the #AfCFTA framework.
Products included cooking oil, fertilizer, wheat, flour, rice, and packed juice.
This is a remarkable stride in the #AfCFTA’s efforts to enhance intra-African trade, economic integration, and harnessing opportunities for SME’s and MSMEs.
The shipment flagged off today consisted of products from Kenyan MSME’s to the Democratic Republic of Congo, South Sudan, and Zambia. "

I’m honoured and humbled by the trust of Commonwealth leaders. A lot of work lies ahead. But together, we shall work for a New Commonwealth that works for all its citizens.
@PatienceOkala@AfCFTA@ASEAN "With @AfCFTA's annex on dispute settlement, we are leapfrogging many of the multilateral processes. Africa is a leader and rule-setter.
And we won't settle for status quo. There will be reform"

Of all the writing I've done lately, I'm proudest of a cool new textbook to teach international trade law -- done for free so that no student anywhere in the world is unable to learn trade law because textbooks are too expensive. Come hear all about this new approach to teaching trade at the WTO Public Forum-- Friday at 1:30 in the library. https://t.co/41ZYMI6IWr
