@BaldingsWorld Through SACEUR the US would take control of of the third, fourth. sixth and seventh largest navies, as well of the fourth, fifth, sixth, ninth and tenth largest armies in case of conflict. This is a massive force multiplier for the US.
@johnkonrad@Papote_T It looks like that your interpretation regarding the EU is only partially correct. The EU would take the UK back, but not anymore with the special provisions Thatcher once negotiated. The UK is not yet ready to swallow this bitter pill.
@MichaelAArouet@jonatanpallesen and place it over a map with major industrial areas in CEE a strong overlap is visible.
Interestingly this areas have a tendency to vote more conservativ to this day
@MichaelAArouet@jonatanpallesen A long time ago someone explained an interesting detail that could also fit in here. If you take a map of the Ausrtrian Empire around 1800, ad the, at this time more with Austria affiliated principalities (Piedmont, Bavaria, Wurttemberg, etc)
@JacquiDeevoy1 In this case it was probably due to infrastructure being build long before Schengen Zone was a concept. To guarantee no mixing of Schengen/Non Schengen Incoming/Outgoing PAX such unpractical operations are, unfortunately, necessary on some airports.
@DavidBCollum@ClimateAudit It seems like this wouldn't change a lot as long as Trump includes VAT in the tarriff calculation. Including a domestic sales tax from any country into the calculations for the US tarriffs makes it de facto impossible for other countries to bring the new tarriffs down.
@DavidBCollum@GreatWhiteDiver The EU implemented this years ago. Many of the residential mailboxes over there had to be replaced to confirm with that regulation
@Jkylebass@ArchwayDefense It seems like there is a misunderstanding. The first special fund was approved in 2022 and is already completely allocated. The special fund does not show up in the regular budget. That's why it looks like that Germany is at 1.53% when in reality it's probably already at 2%
@INArteCarloDoss@realbrucewayne8 It seems you are unaware of that AFD together with Die Linke can block this spending bill in the newly elected Bundestag. Therefore this bill must pass before the new Bundestag is constituted or it will be dead on arrival.
@PortfolioXpert Bob, it seems like you overlook the wars and interventions Putin initiated long before Ukraine became an issue for him. Except Georgia had absolutely nothing to do with NATO. All of them where to expand control over non Russian regions and countries.
@profplum99 @MB8483462193492 Russian reintegration will not happen for a very, very long time. Additionally Poland will not allow that any natural gas to be transferred through its territory. If Scandinavia, especially Denmark, keep their stance there will be no gas through the remaining Nordstream pipeline
