FT @Felixseasiders 3 @CIFC 1

Felixstowe & Walton United produced an excellent performance in front of 515 supporters as they deservedly defeated Canvey Island 3-1.

The Seasiders made a bright start and came close after five minutes when Josh Hitter broke through and found Josh Mayhew inside the box. Mayhew placed his effort beyond the keeper, but it struck the post.

Felixstowe took the lead after 11 minutes when Ethan Garcia finished neatly under the Canvey goalkeeper following a knockdown from Mayhew. The visitors levelled just two minutes later, Mitchell May finishing one-on-one.

Garcia restored the Seasiders’ advantage on 17 minutes with a superb individual goal, using clever footwork to beat his defender before finishing brilliantly after a one-two with Mayhew.

Felixstowe added a third four minutes later. A long throw caused problems for the Canvey defence and, after the goalkeeper failed to hold the ball, Mayhew reacted quickest to stab home from the resulting scramble.

The Seasiders continued to create chances after the break, with Luke Allen seeing a long-range effort tipped over and Tom Warren heading narrowly wide.

Jose Santa De La Paz fired agonisingly across goal after racing clear, while Billy Holland twice went close from distance as Felixstowe comfortably saw out the win.

Felixstowe made a fast start and could have taken the lead after just five minutes when Josh Hitter broke through and played Josh Mayhew into the box. Mayhew placed his effort beyond the Canvey keeper, but saw it strike the left post.

The opening goal did arrive on 11 minutes, with Ethan Garcia finishing neatly underneath the goalkeeper after Josh Mayhew had knocked the ball down into his path.

Canvey responded almost immediately, with Mitchell May going one-on-one and finishing calmly to level the scores just two minutes later.

Garcia restored Felixstowe’s lead on 17 minutes with a superb individual effort. After a neat one-two with Mayhew, he showed excellent footwork to beat his defender before finishing brilliantly.

The Seasiders added a third four minutes later. A long throw caused problems for the Canvey defence and, after the ball went through the goalkeeper’s hands, Mayhew reacted quickest to stab home following a scramble in the box.

Callum Harrison then almost added a spectacular fourth, with an audacious effort from the far right narrowly finding the side netting as Felixstowe continued to threaten.

FT - @fakenhamtownfc 3 @Felixseasiders 3

Felixstowe have to settle for a point in Norfolk after a topsy-turvy @IsthmianLeague game ends all square. Finley Whilteley put the Ghosts ahead on 31 minutes but two Toby Stevenson corners were converted by Billy Holland and Tom Warren on 39 minutes and 45+2 in the first half. Whiteley got his second of the game on 47 to level things again. Ethan Garcia scored with a fine finish on 66 minutes but the visitors couldn’t hold the lead once again, this time Dylan Coslett was on hand to make it 33 on 71 minutes.

Finley Whiteley for the Ghosts on 32 minutes. Billy Holland forced the ball home from a corner at close range on 39 to level and another corner in added time found Tom Warren who made no mistake with his head.
