We’re building a living installation in Boathouse 4 to celebrate 100 years of life in the Dockyard, and we need your help. ‘The Wave 100’ shares real stories from the people who worked here: everyday experiences, family memories, photographs and moments that deserve to be remembered.

If you or someone you know has a connection to the Dockyard, we’d love to include it. It could be a short story, a quote, or a photo with a caption; every contribution helps us tell a fuller story. POSE100 Art Exhibition @POSEPortsmouth

POSE100 celebrates Portsmouth’s Centenary with work by artists from across the city, bringing together a wide range of artists from POSE 2025 alongside key figures from Portsmouth’s arts community. We also have exciting news! An extra special artist being is showing his work, 9-year-old artist James, known as JA, who is the inaugural recipient of the POSE Kids Art Award, and now exhibiting his work alongside POSE artists.

Presented in collaboration with PHQ, the exhibition takes place at Storehouse 9 from 4–12 April 2026, coinciding with the 100th day of Portsmouth’s Centenary year.

Portsmouth Historic Quarter is looking for an experienced Lettings Manager to support the sustainable use of our historic buildings across Portsmouth Historic Dockyard and Priddy’s Hard, Gosport. Income from lettings plays a vital role in preserving these remarkable heritage sites, and this role sits right at the heart of that work.

🕰 Contract: Permanent, part-time (22.5 hrs per week)
📍 Location: Site-based – Portsmouth Historic Dockyard & Priddy’s Hard, Gosport
💷 Salary: £31,000 – £34,000 depending on experience
(£18,600 – £20,400 pro rata)

You’ll manage leases, rents, service charges and occupancy records, acting as a key contact for agents, tenants and prospective occupiers. The role balances commercial awareness with sensitivity to charitable aims and historic environments, contributing directly to the long-term future of our sites.

I Am Born is a visual arts project inspired by the opening chapter of Charles Dickens’ David Copperfield and forms part of In Our Words, a year-long celebration of literature and storytelling led by Portsmouth Creates.

Artists Ally Ashworth and Rachel Johnston worked with seniors from Braemar Care Home and young people from Motiv8 and The Brook Club, using archival images from the Portsmouth History Centre, The News Portsmouth and The D-Day Story to spark conversation and create powerful banners and textile collages. - @rachel_johnston_art @allyashworthart
