NDIUK RESPONSE: ACCOUNTABILITY IS NOT PERSONAL ATTACK
Weโve seen the response from @BtoPbat defending the Minister of Interior on the UK passport intervention. We want to set our own record straight.
1. Our original complaint was never about attacking Hon. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo as an individual. It was about a backlog in passport issuance for Nigerians in the UK that has gone on for too long, followed by an โinterventionโ that then charged citizens
extra fees to fix a problem they didnโt create.
2. The argument that operational failures sit with NIS, not the Minister, misses the point of ministerial oversight. The President appoints ministers precisely to coordinate agencies under them and ensure they deliver for Nigerians, including those abroad. When an agency under a ministry fails repeatedly, the buck stops with the person responsible for supervising it. That is not misinformation; that is how accountability works.
3. Todayโs exercise in London was reportedly chaotic, people arriving as early as 5am, long queues, applicants turned away over a newly introduced ยฃ70 charge they werenโt told about in advance, and reportedly over 200 people being handled by a single machine and one operator. If true, this isnโt a narrative distortion, itโs a service failure on the day, in real time.
4. We agree that any charges, backlog-waiver policy, and turnaround expectations should be published clearly by NIS and the High Commission. Weโve asked for exactly that. Transparency is the minimum, not a concession.
5. Our mandate as NDIUK has never changed: we exist to serve Nigerians in the diaspora, to make sure they can access passports, renew documents, and handle immigration matters without unnecessary suffering. We have no personal quarrel with any official. Our focus is on outcomes for our community.
We renew our call: fix the system, communicate clearly in advance, and donโt make ordinary Nigerians abroad absorb the cost of institutional failure.

NDIUK STATEMENT: ENOUGH IS ENOUGH
Nigerians are not second-class citizens in their own country.
Passengers pay hard-earned money for flights, only to be strung along for hours, shifted from one fake departure time to the next, then dumped with a midnight cancellation. No water. No accommodation. No accountability.
Compare that to Germany: a delayed train means automatic compensation. A cancelled one means the railway houses and feeds you and apologises. In Nigeria, airlines take your money and treat you like an inconvenience.
@flyairpeace and others: a ticket is a promise. Breaking it repeatedly with zero welfare for passengers isnโt bad luck, itโs negligence.
@fkeyamo and the aviation authorities: your silence is complicity. An agency meant to protect the flying public cannot act as spokesman for the industry it regulates.
NDIUK stands with every Nigerian traveller demanding what should be basic: dignity, compensation, and accountability. We are done accepting less than what is standard everywhere else in the world.
Document. Escalate. Take it to court where you can. Make noise everywhere else.
Enough is enough. ๐ณ๐ฌโ๐ฟ
Air Peace, apologies are welcome, but this is now becoming a new normal.
The frequent complaints about delays, cancellations and flight disruptions every other week are becoming increasingly concerning. Nigerians, both at home and in the diaspora, deserve a reliable airline service, especially when so many people depend on Air Peace for their domestic and international travel.
We understand that disruptions can happen, but repeated disruptions cannot simply be met with apologies. There must be accountability, proper communication and, most importantly, lasting solutions.
Air Peace must do better. Nigerians deserve better. ๐ณ๐ฌโ๏ธ

Nigeria is honestly becoming a crime scene๐ณ๐ฌ
You fail to provide a smooth and efficient passport renewal/application process for Nigerians abroad.
Then, when you finally introduce an โinterventionโ to fix the problems your own system created, you charge the same citizens an EXTRA ยฃ70โยฃ150. ๐คฆ๐ฟโโ๏ธ
How does this make sense?
Fix the system. Donโt make Nigerians abroad pay for your failures. ๐ณ๐ฌ๐ฌ๐ง
