This week, FEMNET joined the 14th Pan African Conference on Tax and Illicit Financial Flows in Dakar, Senegal, advancing conversations on a transformative tax justice agenda for Africa.
Together with Tax Justice Network Africa (TJNA), we co-convened a session on Tax Justice and the Social Organisation of Care, exploring how tax systems can better recognise, resource and support care.
The message was clear: tax justice is not only about raising revenue it is about building economies that prioritise care, dignity, equity and collective wellbeing.
FEMNET remains committed to advancing a feminist tax justice agenda across Africa and globally.

Today, FEMNET and Faith to Action Network marked an important step forward with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding by FEMNET Executive Director Memory Kachambwa and Faith to Action Network CEO Rev. Jane Ng’ang’a, strengthening our shared commitment to advancing gender justice, women’s rights and Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) across Africa.
Through this partnership, we will work together to strengthen meaningful engagement between women’s rights organisations, faith actors and cultural leaders, create spaces for dialogue around shared SRHR priorities, and advance advocacy that responds to the realities of women and girls across the continent. The partnership will also create opportunities for joint advocacy, mutual learning, knowledge and narrative building, and amplification across our networks and platforms.
Together, we are building bridges between feminist and faith movements and strengthening collective action towards bodily autonomy, gender equality and reproductive justice.

I am honoured to be one of 23 African women contributing to FEMNET’s #MaputoAt23 campaign.
