America the beautiful. 🇺🇸
As we get ready to celebrate America’s 250th birthday tomorrow, here are a few more photos from Vin's trip out through the Southwest and Midwest last week.
Every stop was a reminder of how different this country can look from place to place, but how much keeps it connected. Freight gets to be part of that every day. Moving goods, supporting businesses, and keeping supply chains running.
We hope everybody has a great day celebrating the Fourth tomorrow!
Agents want flexibility. They want support when they need it. They want good technology without feeling like they’re just another number.
That balance is a big part of what makes Fenichey different and why so many experienced agents connect with what’s being built here.
Last week was a good one.
As part of what we've been calling the Fenichey Summer Road Tour, Vin started in Fort Worth, made his way to Wichita, and wrapped things up in Kansas City. He got to catch up with some familiar faces and spend time meeting some new ones too.
One thing about this business is we spend a lot of time behind screens, on calls, and moving fast. You don’t always get enough chances to sit down face to face.
But those relationships matter, and they're such a huge part of what we’ve built at Fenichey.
From the beginning, the goal was never to build a place where people felt like numbers, but to build something people wanted to be part of.
If you’ve built a book of business and you’re looking for a place that values relationships as much as results, it’s time to see what Fenichey is all about.
Last week on the Fenichey Summer Road Tour, Vin was so excited to catch his favorite band, @rushtheband, while he was in Fort Worth.
Then earlier that day, he got the email that the show was being rescheduled to July 2... when he'll already be back in North Carolina. Definitely a disappointment.
But he had to laugh because if that isn’t the most freight thing ever, he doesn't know what is. You make the plan, something changes, and you adjust.
So instead, he had a great dinner with Christina and Melinda from Highway, enjoyed some time in Fort Worth, and kept doing what he went there to do: spend time with the network and connect with freight agents.
Good Morning, Wichita!!
As part of his summer road tour this month, Vin is in Kansas today. If you’re a local, he'd love to make time to connect and show you what we’re building at Fenichey.
When your systems work the way they should, you spend less time tracking things down and more time moving freight, helping customers, and building your business.
When Vin started Fenichey, he wasn’t thinking about building some big company. He was just trying to make payroll, keep the lights on, and make next month a little better than the last.
His sons were still in school then, but eventually they started helping out. Typing bills, doing the behind-the-scenes work, learning the business from the ground up.
Now they get to build together every day.
Last week, we held our second Fenichey team huddle.
On the call, we got into tracking, messaging, automation, and cleaned up a few processes to make things work better for the team.
The goal is for agents to come with questions, leave with ideas, and get back to running their business.
At Fenichey, the goal is to give agents the tools, tech, and support to grow their business without taking away the freedom that made them become agents in the first place. Build it your way, and know we’re here when you need us.
Quick reminder, next week Vin will be on the road.
• June 23-25: Texas
• June 26: Wichita
• June 27: Kansas City
If you’re a freight agent in any of those areas and have been following what we’re doing at Fenichey, reach out to connect with him and see if there’s a fit.
Why make things harder than they need to be?
That’s how we think about technology at Fenichey.
Great freight agents already know how to move freight and grow a book of business. Our tech stack is built to make the work around that easier with better visibility, smarter tools, automation where it makes sense, and fewer manual steps.
Last week, Vin was sitting on the beach and finalized a 300-load move for one of our customers.
Even better, he already had carriers lined up and ready to start moving freight next week. From the beach.
That’s always been the goal for him. Build a business that doesn’t depend on being chained to a desk to keep things moving.
People who trust their experience, make good decisions, and keep freight moving tend to do really well at Fenichey.
Our job is to back you up, remove friction, and build tools that help you move faster, NOT to stand over your shoulder all day.
If you looked at Vin's browser tabs right now, you might be concerned.
Carrier data. Internal tools. Maps. CRM. Ideas tabs everywhere. Always.
It’s part of his process, and it comes from working to ensure our agents aren’t bogged down doing something manually when there’s a faster way out there.
If you’re a Fenichey agent, you can trust that he's always working behind the scenes to make your life easier.
Vin spent the weekend down in Myrtle Beach with his wife, Sara, for the Carolina Country Music Festival.
These types of weekends are a reminder that the whole point of building something is to create more freedom, not less.
That’s something we think about a lot with Fenichey. Good people, good processes, and the right tools should let agents run a serious business without feeling like they can never step away. Go take the trip, stay for the concert, enjoy the weekend.
Freight will still move Monday morning.
