Mam if I didn’t understand what I was reading I wouldn’t be speaking on it. Any form of honor or worship is strictly prohibited towards idols. All you have to do is look up the definition of honor.

Venerating is the present participle of the verb venerate, which means to regard or treat someone or something with profound respect, deep awe, or sacred honor.
Making a graven image, venerating, bowing down, serving or showing reverence are all forms of honoring an idol. Which is prohibited by God.
