@Watchingtheflow AKA BT's Bill Murphy, MD Next Gen Access @edvaizey@btcare @OxfordshireCC warm weather last weekend triggered annual Broadband outages in Fernham thanks to Bill and Ed's ill-conceived science experiment a microwave BB link instead of 1 mile of fibre.
@edvaizey is standing down. Will be interesting to see if @BTGroup reward him for all the public money he passed to them to spend on broadband rollout where there was a strong business case at the expense of hard to reach rural communities who needed just one mile of fibre.
@bt_uk thx for your “we’re here to help” tweet. Can you get Openreach to fix the infrastructure to Fernham?Every year the radio link fails in hot weather. 100 line outage. Replace it with 1 mile of Fibre.

I’ve signed. And it looks like every sane person in the country is signing too. National emergency. Revoke Article 50 and remain in the EU. - Petitions https://t.co/tPgkaz1soi
@btcare @btopenreach @ofcom just as BT’s 0800800150 line closed until Monday BB went down again. Came back but this is not acceptable. Your network is not of merchantable quality, not fit for purpose, I pay for Superfast.
The Business Case for Rural BB https://t.co/aPTyUbjmWv via @BBWorldForum, all just words. 3 years on, Fernham get lo speed & many outages, some 10 days long. Rather than 1 mile of fibre @Watchingtheflow Bill Murphy pic here with @edvaisey put in low quality unreliable radio link
@Watchingtheflow@edvaizey@BTCare Nearly 3 tears on now Bill, we just had a 10 day outage. We average 5-6days a year of outage. The radio link is v unreliable and poor quality. Mast head radios are designed for metal towers or poles not bendy wood poles. We said it wouldn't work. Just one mile of Fibre fixes it.
@PhillipsonPaul@BTCare@BTretail@BTGroup @BTOpenreach @Ofcom Allegedly the 7 day long issue has been fixed by BT but some villagers still have issues or no broadband at all. BT still silent.... is it really fixed?
@PhillipsonPaul@BTCare@BTretail@BTGroup @BTOpenreach @Ofcom 100 homes in Oxfordshire still without BB after six days. Hopefully the building of more houses will qualify us for real fibre BB rather than a fake “fibre like” radio link? Not expecting a reply from BT they clearly think customers who should just pay up and shut up.
@BTCare@marchamjack@BTGroup @BTOpenreach @Ofcom Several of the 100 households affected have reported the problems on their individual accounts. The system updates initially said 2hours to fix, yesterday said 47hrs today says 26hrs. Weekend off for the football? What is the problem? When will it really be fixed?
Another @FernhamBroadban villager here without BB for days now. Wouldn't it be nice if @BTCare automatically provided compensation for loss of service to us customers, rather than we need to find time to "discuss it" in due course... https://t.co/VRIZQtU15J
@FernhamBroadban@BTCare revised fixed time now of 47 hours. Will be over a week of no bb by then. Where do I get a compensation claim form from as you are incapable of providing your contractually promised service levels
@BTCare@FernhamBroadban plus the out of pocket expenses which I am tracking for having to travel to get access to the World Wide Web (excluding Fernham obviously) https://t.co/EjIPuG4JY0
@btcare day 4 and again no broadband for 100 homes in our village. Dipping below 99% availability compared to the 99.99% (less than 1 hour outage per year) we were promised. At least @BTGroup are consistent, consistently poor at delivering infrastructure using public money.
