Dear Ifeanyi,
Thank you for your feedback. Please calmly reread the post you are responding to after taking twelve deep breaths. You may then notice that it is a tribute to those who were murdered on January 15, 1966, of whom the 60th anniversary of their death is today.
Chief Nnamdi Azikiwe was not among those killed. You will notice that I did not also mention Chief Obafemi Awolowo, who was not killed as he was in prison in Calabar.
Chief Azikiwe went on a Caribbean cruise on his leave and refused to return to Nigeria after his leave ended. Nobody knows why. His ADC, Orho Obada, who later rose to the rank of Major General, eventually abandoned Chief Azikiwe in Haiti and returned to Nigeria. The coup that took the lives of the men and women I honoured occurred as Obada arrived in Nigeria.
That is why I did not mention Chief Azikiwe. Not because I am being "segregational".
Thanks again, and may God bless you.

JANUARY 15 - THE LAST STAND OF A LION; THE COURAGE AND TRAGEDY OF SAMUEL LADOKE AKINTOLA
In the grand and tragic history, Premier Chief Samuel Ladoke Akintola, with unwavering dignity, steeled himself for the tumultuous storm that was about to engulf him.
A ruthless force of fifty soldiers, commanded by the fiery and unforgiving Captain Emmanuel Nwobosi, descended upon his residence. Within the sanctuary of his home, Akintola was surrounded by his wife and children, whose voices rang with pleading concern, begging him to stay hidden and not challenge the blurdthirsty marauders cloaked in the garb of tragedy.
In a moment of sheer valour, they shielded themselves behind the heavy wardrobes as a hailstorm of bullets tore through their sanctuary. But Nwobosi, driven by a relentless thirst for blood, was resolute in his mission.
At a decisive moment, Akintola, with the courage of a lion, turned to his family and declared that he could not cower behind furniture like a frightened cat. He would not allow his loved ones to remain helplessly in hiding while these merciless invaders threatened their very existence.
In a voice filled with resolute strength, he proclaimed his intention to confront the enemy head-on, to face Azrael rather than live in fear.
The mighty Akintola, like the Aare Ona Kakanfo, Warrior king that he was, emerged into the open, challenging his would-be assassins. He confronted them with a defiant fury, opening fire upon his attackers. This was no man to fall without a struggle, no soul willing to be swept away by the tides of fate without leaving a mark upon the waters.
Nwobosi and his men, though skilled and ruthless, found themselves taking cover as Akintola, though but a single civilian, drew blood and wounded trained combatants. But fate, ever cruel, had conspired against the Premier.
The rebels, armed with superior firepower and a more refined mastery of the art of war, ultimately prevailed. Akintola, his body pierced by bullets unleashed from the very hands of Nwobosi, fell in defiance. His lifeless form was left amidst a pool of his own blud, a tragic end to a life lived with unyielding courage.
Worthy of unforgettable note, however, is this: among all the leaders the Igbo Majors struck down on that ill-fated night, only Aare Ona Kakanfo Akintola rose like a wounded lion and fought back. It remains a tale woven with threads of bravery, raw courage, and that indomitable Yoruba fighting spirit - the kind that refuses to bow to bullies even when the night itself turns against you.
May his soul find eternal peace. A man of many tongues - fluent in English, Hausa, Nupe, and Yoruba... Akintola - had spoken the language of unity and strength. That night, however, the rebels spoke a singular and final language: ‘MURDER,’ a tongue beyond his grasp.
Good Morning Severally...
Peter Obi: The Man Who Taxed Poverty in Anambra
Dear Peter Obi,
Thank you for your thoughts on the Tax Reform Act, which came into force yesterday, which was New Year's Day. However, it seems you have forgotten the following historical facts.
While you were the Governor of Anambra, poverty increased in the state, yet you imposed new and heavy taxes on the people of Anambra.
Please fact-check me: The poverty rate in Anambra was 41.4% in 2003, before Obi took office, and rose to 53.7% by 2009, during his governorship, a 29.7% increase.
Yet, despite the rise in poverty under your watch as Governor, on Tuesday, June 11, 2013, you imposed new and heavy taxes on Anambra markets, prompting traders in the state to protest.
And again, please fact-check me.
When 600 traders from Eke Awka Market protested and filed an appeal against you, you insisted that they must pay your new, heavy taxes.
At that, they led another protest to the Anambra State House of Assembly, barricaded it, and prevented legislative business from proceeding.
And all this was happening while you, Peter, dishonestly hid your own money in tax havens, as shown in the Pandora Papers of the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists.
Therefore, I find it strange that you, who increased poverty in Anambra and also simultaneously increased taxes, are now accusing the Tinubu administration, which has added $57 billion to our economy, of taxing the poor.
And just so you know, your allegations show that you haven't read the new tax laws, because in those legislations, Nigerians earning less than ₦800,000 will not be taxed.
Meaning that under President Tinubu, those petty traders in Anambra that you taxed to near death would have a tax holiday.
So, please, Peter, reread your post, and direct it at yourself, because it is all about you, the man who taxed poverty in Anambra!
You were taxing poverty as Anambra Governor, but President Tinubu is tackling poverty as Nigeria's President.

NEVER AFRAID TO ACT
One thing you cannot take away from Asiwaju even if you are his worst critic is this -
He is never afraid to act.
We once had a leader who denied the abduction of our children for weeks...
We once had a leader who lived in the dark until the storm had already torn the roof apart… HE WAS NEVER AWARE...
He wasn’t aware of the brazen corruption beneath him… He wasn’t aware of the sabotage festering within the armed forces… He wasn’t aware of the blackmail brewing in the CBN… Consistently NOT AWARE.
But this one… This One…
Aware - Alert - Agile.
A leader whose instincts wake before the alarm clock, whose hands move before the drumbeat of danger, whose steps answer before the question is even asked.
The insecurity challenges before us are daunting, no doubt - shadows that loom large across the land. Yet we stand assured in the tenacity, audacity, and unwavering forthrightness of our Commander-in-Chief. With a captain who does not blink before the storm, we know the tide will turn.
In the grand theatre of nations, all is well that ends well - and this chapter, too, will end in triumph.
Good Morning Severally...
General - Over to you, Sir. Eliminate these demons.
I really worry for our nation - because a Governor is openly fraternising with a convicted terrorist. I hope the DSS will keep their eyes opened and continue to monitor all terrorist sympathisers and funders. #SayNoToTerrorism
An elected governor of a state under the federal Republic of Nigeria visited someone in prison who was convicted on the allegation of treason by the same federal government in which the state is a part of in less than two weeks after the conviction. What a misplaced governance.

When you get a job, look to the future. Do not focus on what you are earning. Instead, prioritise what you are learning. Not only will such an attitude capture the attention of management and lead to your promotion, but the end result is that you will have learned enough to start your own business. That is your end game. To be your own boss, even if you have to take a temporary loss.
