Since IMAX has been a major topic of conversation lately with ‘The Odyssey’ being in theaters, now’s a fitting time to share a little bit of IMAX lore.
For ‘The Hunger Games: Catching Fire’ the arena sequences were shot with IMAX cameras, so if you watch the movie on a standard Blu-ray, as Katniss enters the arena, the film’s aspect ratio will change from a standard 2.40:1 aspect ratio, to a full 1.78:1 ratio to fill the entire screen for the rest of the movie.
You can’t watch the movie this way on streaming or digital platforms.
Another reason why preserving physical media is important.

there is no plausible deniability that cops here are deploying tear gas as a means of crowd dispersal. they're lobbing gas bombs at hundreds of people who are fucking trapped against a wall. police not only started these riots, they're actively trying to escalate them
This is the power of the people. It doesn’t matter how many millions in military equipment they have, there are more of us than there are of them. Don’t back down. Film everything.
